Hello,
I have found a bug in the theme which renders particular link absolutely useless.
We have an affiliate program with one of our partners, heureka.sk. They have a catalog of phones and everything you can think about + they offer comparison of prices between each eshop.
The link which we use to distinguish ourselves from the rest has this format: http://mobilne-telefony.heureka.sk/samsung-i9505-galaxy-s4-16gb/#c111:1
the /#c111:1 (not our actual number) is used to authenticate us + the link of product. It should work just fine everywhere with all links, however this doesn’t work in Newsmag. When you link a word with that link, it will do nothing, you won’t be able to click the link. See this article – http://androidportal.zoznam.sk/2015/01/android-5-0-lollipop-ktore-zariadenia-dostanu-kedy/
You have to delete the #c111:1 bit for the link to work, which renders our affiliate program useless.
It would be great if you could make a fix, asap, if possible, as this is quite a big issue 🙂
Thanks in advance,
Lukas
So I did more testing and I found out that it is colon which is causing the problem. This works fine – http://mobilne-telefony.heureka.sk/samsung-i9505-galaxy-s4-16gb/#c111
But this doesn’t
http://mobilne-telefony.heureka.sk/samsung-i9505-galaxy-s4-16gb/#c111:1
colon is not a proper character for URLs…
you may need to encode that such as :
Theme and WordPress generally do not “rewrite” URLs placed in posts.
Not a theme issue. Basic HTML to change entities in URLs, such as & symbol to HTML entities.
If it isn’t a theme issue, then please explain this. That link works everywhere else – in other CMS, in all themes in WordPress and even here – look.
We used a theme called Valenti, where it worked just fine, many other tech blogs from Slovakia and/or Czech republic use these URLs without any hiccups. There is definitely nothing wrong with the URL.
Weird. It should “not” be a theme, issue but I just reproduced this by pasting the URL with open new window code into a post on my ga-ga.com site running the theme, then on my californianewswire.com site running Woo Canvas (shortly to be running Newsmag once the new update drops next Monday-ish).
The link works on my CANW site but NOT the Ga-Ga site.
So, you are indeed correct sir!

Heh. 80% of what people report as bugs are not bugs, hence my initial “are you suuuuuurrrre?” comment. I don’t work here, but have suffered the vagaries of WordPress for a decade now, so often have a useful tip to impart. Not in this case.
On the plus side, now having a second person verify this, the TagDiv support folk will also know “it’s for real” 🙂
I know, WordPress can be a pain sometimes. We usually go for new fresh look every year and we have done so for the past 4 years. Every theme we migrate to has it’s ups and downs, but I am happy to report that Newsmag is the best one we’ve tried so far. Our other project is running on Newspaper, where I’ve experienced what is tagDiv team capable of 🙂
Hopefully, this will get fixed. Thanks for your help! 🙂
For your information, I’ve the same problem when I insert a link to a “tab” in a page, created with the visual composer. If I put this link: http://mysite.com/page-url/#tab-1421466619-2-66 in the menu, this link doesn’t work. Not sure if the things may be related.
Hi Lucian, it’s been two weeks. Is there any progress on fixing this? This is a real issue. Google also uses link, which don’t work on newsmag. For example this for their dev. groups: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/instagram-for-android-beta-testers
Hello, I’ve downloaded and installed the latest version of the theme, but direct links to “tabbed content” in pages still doesn’t work. I’ve added the link in the menu and if I click it it doesn’t do anything. If I paste in the browser in the same page of my blog it doesn’t work either. If I paste it in a new page of the broswer it shows the page, but the content in the tab doesn’t show.
Tabs works fine as when I’m in THAT page and I click on the tab I can see it properly.
Any news?

Hi,
This issue has been fixed in the latest theme version so it should work, could you please provide a link to your site so we can have a look at this this and also make sure this doesn’t happen due to a plugin, test without any other plugins laving just the Visual Composer plugin active and also empty caches.
Please let me know and if you want to do this in private you can also use or email, address and send us a message with your site’s url there: contact@tagdiv.com
Thanks
