we are using https://infinitewp.com/ to update a lot of WP pages. We have a problem with newspaper, because after a theme update, the theme plugins are not active anymore.
Do you know about this problem and anything we can improve here?

Yes thats the problem, after a theme update (I think infinitewp is updating theme files via FTP), all the theme plugins are deactivated and have to be re-activated manually.
From other premium themes, we do not have this problem – their theme plugins do not get deactivated on theme update…
But if you don’t know this problem and other customers do not use infinitewp, I have to write a plugin checking if the plugins are active (or activate them).

This issues is most likely because of a plugin conflict. Normally the plugins will have to update and activate automatically when starting the process.

Yes I think infiniteWP is the conflict – I will write a plugin for my company to re-activate your theme plugins after everytime infiniteWP updates them.

Hello… I’ll jump in here as we have same problem. We are agency and update quite a few sites that uses the Newspaper theme. We also are using InfiniteWP to update our clients wordpresses, and every time there is an update to Newspaper the site will be left with these plugins inactive. Is there a way to “fix” your update trigger so that it would trigger update and activation of your plugins after a “remote” update of the Newspaper theme? Any chance you could include this in your great theme any time soon? 🙂
