Hello, I’ve assigned a favicon to my website weeks ago, but it’s not showing in Google searches and I don’t know how to fix this.
I see the favicon in the browser, but when searching from mobile it still shows the default icon.
To be clear, I’m talking about this:
I’ve also looked into this: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/appearance/favicon-in-search but I don’t know how to add <link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”/path/to/favicon.ico”> to the header of my homepage.
Can you please help me with this?

You need to add the favicon, in Theme Panel -> Header -> Logo and Favicon => https://www.screencast.com/t/H4ucPC2wwz
Also, on the homepage there’s an option Customize icon => https://www.screencast.com/t/I2uVvP4b -> Site identity -> Site icon -> Change image -> publish => https://www.screencast.com/t/lY9WEOZEj
Please make sure that you have cleared your cache.

I’ve followed your instructions but the favicon still doesn’t show in mobile google searches, maybe it takes some time for google to update.
I will let you know if in few weeks it doesn’t come up.

If you want to add that code for favicon there are two methods, the first is to insert the code in Theme Panel -> Analytics / JS Code =>https://www.screencast.com/t/qC0YLfvVj and the second is to set the code in the files in these paths wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/header.php
