The page speed is not related only to the theme that you are using, this is affected by plugins/content/ads/ external resources, etc.
I just checked your website and it looks that your images and thumbs are not optimized, for example, you can use EWWW Image Optimizer plugin, also, you can try other plugins like Autoptimize.
