Lost sidebars AND Theme registration

When updating, all the sidebars with widgets were gone. The sidebars have been found by adding the Classic Widget plugin and all of them are marked as inactive sidebars.

How can I get the inactive sidebars back to being active?

Also, the theme is no longer registered. I keep adding the code from ThemeForest and it says active .. .only to leave the area and come back to seeing it as unregistered again.

Sigh.

Hello @LPH!

If you use the default templates, please make sure you have the Standard Pack plugin installed and active.
The registration issue has been discussed here, please check: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/problem-update-11-3-1/

Also, please make a test, deactivate all the cache plugins and the extra non-tagdiv ones, clear the cache from your browser and see the results. In this mood you’ll see if a plugin causes this inconvenience.

Let me know the results!

Thank you!

Hi

Thank you for the link to another discussion. I found that there is a problem with installing the Standard Pack then Deactivating it. It deactivated ALL of my sidebars.

Your developers probably did not intend for that behavior to happen.

Hello,

I understand that the problem is solved, right?
I’m glad!

Thank you!

What? NO !!

The problem with the Newspaper 11.4 is NOT solved. It’s a horrible upgrade. I’ve wasted hours and hours.

No settings save.
Excerpt settings are wrong.
Sidebars are wiped out and set to inactive and cannot be recovered because no settings save.
Theme was deactivated and cannot be activated (will not save!)
admin-ajax.php is NOT blocked.

It’s just a nightmare of an upgrade.

Hello,

If you have made any settings, and after saving it are not saved are usually caused by the object cache.
We have a guide on how to check the Object Cache if is applied on Backend -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/general-options-may-interfere-newspaper-theme/
Also, please provide the link to your website.

Thank you!

No. There’s no caching at the point of development. Settings are simply not saving. I’ve sent a video to support because activation isn’t saved either.

Sorry. The theme version is a mess and I hope the video gives enough to show the saving issue and developers can fix things.

I love the theme but I’ve spent days upon days cleaning things up.

TagDiv composer isn’t PHP 8 ready either. I’ll send the errors to support.

Tested PHP 7.4, 8.x and 8.1. Saving just doesn’t work.

Hello,

If you sent an email, one of my colleagues will answer you, also send wp-admin and cPanel access.
Also, I have PHP version 8.0.13 and it works well for me -> https://i.imgur.com/EVpZhEm.png , but that also depends on what settings you have made on the host/server/plugins.

Thank you!
