Hello,

How can i set different footers for each language of my website?

I am using Polylang plugin to create a second language for my website. But in the theme panel i can only set 1 footer page for my entire website.

Is there any other way i can set different footers for each language? Also, i want to mention that i have a footer menu, and simply translating the strings won’t help me. I need to show different information for each language.

Can you please provide me a solution for this situation?

Best regards,

Hi marketingart2, unfortunately, I do not know exactly how the Polylang should work, if this is translating only strings, or you can choose a different template per language. For this please check there documentation -> https://polylang.wordpress.com/documentation/
We tested with our theme the WPML plugin and this offer the possibility to translate the strings or if you use cloud templates (like you do) you can set a different one per each language. Here is our guide for WPML -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-theme-translations-together-wpml/
Thank you!

Hi Calin,

Thank you for your answer. The Polylang plugin does not traslates only strings. It allows you to create different templates per language.

As for the footer, i am using a page, not a cloud template. – https://prnt.sc/26cd8sc

The problem that i am facing right now is that even if i use multiple languages, i cannot choose different footer for each language, meaning i can set only 1 footer for the entire website.

Even if i translate this page, i cannot set it for my english version of website. – https://prnt.sc/26cd9f9

Is there nothing else i can do to make this work?

PS: The WPML plugin is not free. Thats why i am not using it.

Waiting for your reply soon,

Thank you.

Hi,
Indeed, I just made a few test and indeed only one footer page will be display.
But, if you can translate the cloud header, then you can simple make a cloud footer and translate it.
Thank you!

Hi,

This does not work for me because i cannot translate cloud templates. I cannot even edit them with composer – https://prnt.sc/26cqeo1

Also, the header is not a cloud template. I am using the Style 3 – Multipurpose and i use different menu’s for every language.

I cannot find a solution for my situation. The last thing i want to do is to copy-paste the footer i created on every page.

Waiting for your reply soon,

Thank you.

Hi,
It looks that you can use the string translate -> https://i.imgur.com/RFI8Fc3.png -> but the problem is can be done only on pro version https://polylang.pro/doc/strings-translation/ so, it look like with the free version is not possible, sorry!
Thank you!
