Hello TagDiv,
The review schema has been broken for a few years and needs fixing, I was told it would have been fixed in the latest update, however, it wasn’t.
I simply want the review schema to display the correct rating out of 10, and display the authors name next to the review. At the moment, it shows the shows the review rated out of 5 and has “1 vote” instead of the authors name.
What the theme needs: https://gyazo.com/347d44986d804a58ea9bbbee830b7f38
What we have: https://gyazo.com/a82827b330bc2c613c7f3063fa3cf3b2 – the rating says 4.5/10 when I have rated it 9/10 in the post.
The fix is SO simple and should only take a few minutes, just change BestRating to 10, and display the current rating from post settings.
I would fix the issue myself, however, td-page-meta is outside the_content(), so it is impossible to catch it with the parser, because this data is output before I can parse it. I’ve been looking into TD plugins (theme related) and noticed that some of the meta data code hasn’t changed since 2015, including the reviews. This is very unacceptable for a wordpress theme with so many sales, besides, not a single function in the code is created in such a way that it can be filtered, everything is written strictly and without the possibility of customization, all code is written directly in the class constructor
I really hope we can get this issue fixed soon.
Regards
-Dan
Hi Bettina,
It’s been 3 weeks and we still can’t get an update on something so minor?
Newspaper theme promises that the theme is great to run a review site, however, it’s impossible to run a quality review site when the schema is broken. This is very basic stuff and should have been fixed a long time ago when we were first promised
For a best-selling theme, Tagdiv treats its paying customers very poorly and it’s totally unacceptable.
Hi dmxsta,
The reviews are still not working correctly even in the last version? There was some
extra code added for it.
Or maybe you are referring that you to display the rating to be 10/10 to no longer be until 5 stars. If is so, this is on our list and I hope that our developers will implement it soon.
All we can do is put the issues and requests on the list, from there the developers and the management decide what, how and when to do it.
Thank you for your understanding and sorry for any inconvenience!
Hi Calin,
Yes, I am referring to the Google schema which is broken. Why let users choose between stars and points if the points system is broken and doesn’t display on Google correctly?
I don’t get how the developers can’t fix something so simple, it’s been asked time and time again by paying customers, however, tagDiv refuses to listen to these issues.
This theme can’t be used for a review site and Newspaper theme is being falsely advertised, such a disgrace from a top-selling theme.
Hi,
So it’s been over a month since I started this thread and still no update.
This fix is so simple I can even give you the code which needs to be added, I really don’t understand why a theme that is advertised as a “review theme” cant fix their review schema which has been broken for years!
Please push the developers into fixing this problem, we both know it is WELL overdue.
Thanks
Hi Calin,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, the 5-star display system is working but this is not the problem in question. The problem is with the points system that you have been made well aware of.
So you are saying the schema will be fixed for the points system in the next update? I was told there would be “improvements” last time and it was still not fixed.
Thanks!
I’m glad you managed to fix PART of the review schema, the numbers are displaying properly, however, why are we stuck with “1 vote” and not the author’s name like every single other review site has?

It seems strange to do something so half-heartedly when it’s so so simple, maybe you are not relaying the information properly to the dev team? It just doesn’t make sense to me.
PLEASE can we revise the review schema and make it right!
I’d love to be able to speak with the dev team myself or even pay someone on your team to fix it for me. It’s making our review site seem super unprofessional and just needs fixing ASAP.
Thank you!

Hello!
You can contact our custom work team here and they will try to help you: https://tagdiv.com/premium-customization-services/
Thank you for understanding!
Hello
He is right, we should have the option to select.
If the rating is based on user submission, then you can use the # of votes but if it is an article review written by an individual author, you should always show the name.
This should be fixed instead of being custom work.
