Custom mobile homepage not displaying

Hey TagDiv team,

1. After updating to 11.4.2 last week our custom mobile homepage is no longer displaying.

I have read through the documentation and the previous posts and can confirm that the “Disable mobile theme” setting is turned on: https://jmp.sh/06VjFc7

I have also cleared our cache. Can you please assist?

Two other small enquiries:

2. Some of our pages that were previously displaying responsively on mobile are not anymore (one displays but there is a large gap at the top and many of the images are out of proportion, and the other two load an empty page). The first doesn’t have mobile theme disabled and the other two do. When I view these pages on desktop using Inspect and scale them for mobile devices they scale perfectly.

3. I enquired recently about why we couldn’t see headers when working in the Block Editor after the latest WP update. These are semi-fixed (they show as a different font) but still appear very small. Is there a way to fix these so that they appear closer to WYSIWYG yet?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
1. So do you want to use both, mobile theme plugin and responsive version?
If is so, then yes, you can use the enable/disable option -> https://jumpshare.com/v/l3GBkXGzVTNaYdiqNQgW that should be set on off.
If you do not want to use the mobile theme plugin, then just please disable it.

2. It looks that on the links that were provided the mobile theme is apply on each of them, but if you disable the mobile theme from them and the cache is all cleared, then the problem should be resolved. When you are logged in it is disapplied the right version?

3. Maybe the new update will fix the problem, for this, please make a full backup and only after that update the theme.
Thank you!

Hi Calin,

1. Yes, that’s correct, we want to use both the mobile theme plugin and the responsive version (for a few key pages).

However, the problem is that we are turning that off and on.

If we have it switched on (blue showing) it uses the mobile theme and doesn’t load any assets.

If we have it switched off (white showing) our website is displaying incorrectly since the update (a weird header at the top, a huge amount of white space that takes up an entire mobile phone screen, and then the page loads.

Please see this page on desktop: https://dutchreview.com/dutchreview-team/internships/editorial-internship/
And a screen recording of the same page on mobile: https://share.icloud.com/photos/0f8FaOspRfzgwSSp7kA-AxoqQ

These pages used to display correctly and it is only after updating that they are not working.

2. The mobile theme is deactivated for those pages but the huge gap at the top and the lack of responsiveness are persisting. This worked prior to the most recent update.

3. No, the new update does not fix it. We are up to date and the problem persists. Screenshot: https://jmp.sh/jdxE2lM

Best,

Sam

1. I understand. The problem is the same when you are logged in? Can you please make a backup and update the theme to Newspaper v11.4.3 to see if the problem persists.

2. I see some errors in console, so the problem can be from there -> https://i.imgur.com/Nu1aZr8.png can you please make a test using only tagDiv plugins?

3. I mean the new update from today, I see that the current version is 11.4.2 https://i.imgur.com/IX3u0Ye.png but today was made an update to 11.4.3

If not, then please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com, make sure that you have a full backup for your website and also provide wp-admin and cPanel access. also include the link of this topic in email.
Maybe this can help.
Thank you!

Hi Calin,

We still haven’t received a response to the email we sent earlier today and now a cached version of the Coronavirus news mobile template is showing on Google Chrome. Can someone please look at this ASAP?

Best,

Sam

Hi,
As far as I can tell I answered you, I think the problem was related to a function set in child theme.
If there is still a problem please reply via email.
Thank you!
