do i have to download updates from themeforest or is the theme automatically updated in wordpress

It can be done either way. There is an automatic update method or the usual manual methods. This update guide is valid for both themes – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
However, if the Newsmag theme version you are using is older than 4.9.4, the automatic update method will not be available, as it was not yet introduced

In this case the theme will have to be updated manually. Download it from your themeforest account and update it on the website, through WordPress or using a file manager.

When you upload the update to your website, will you have to rearrange your previous setting. I don’t know if I am using the right terms but I want to know if after updating your website will be scattered and you have to rearrange again

Normally when you update the theme all theme settings should remain (settings made in the theme panel and with tagDiv Composer), but if you have made custom changes in the theme files, those will be lost.
