Been using Newsmag for 8 years now and only recently the above mentioned problem has started.
Most of the time the images dont show anymore but every now and than one shows. Ive tried different sizes and shapes but it didnt make a difference. Ive also tried the debugger many times and deactivated all plugins. But that also didnt make a difference. Besides that we have verified our domain with facebook. The area just stays white or grey even if other people try to share the link on their private fb account. Currently we are using AIO SEO but have tried out also YOAST. Whats else can we do?

Normally if the og:image appears in the posts source, then the featured image should be shared on facebook. SEO plugins like AIO and Yoast provide the option to add the og:image
What you can do is to test the posts on the dev tool https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

On sharing debugger both dont show up. All strange.
Also Twitter Image doesnt show, as Ive seen just now

I just cheeked your website and I see that you have some errors in console https://i.imgur.com/eEIq1Kc.png it is possible that some of theme to interfere with the sharing option.
Can you please do some tests using only the theme plugins and SEO plugin? Also if you have custom code in htaccess, please do a test using the default code.
If you agreed, we can do some tests too, but we’ll need temporary wp-admin access and you’ll need to have a backup for your website.
