I have several sidebars setup with multiple widgets. In most of the sidebars I have a text box with some HTML code and a twitter widget. I also have a sidebar with a mailchimp subscription form, social icons, recent posts, and a text box.
In the sidebar with just the twitter widget and text box I can see the twitter widget, but not the text box.
In the sidebar with the mailchimp form I see nothing.
I believe this started when I upgraded to version 1.7 of the Newsmag theme.
When you update theme you often need to redo your sidebars due to WordPress not always saving that as part of the “transient” settings. Often you can simply re-drag them from the “disabled” at bottom of appearance > widgets to the sidebar(s) again. Boom, they’re back.
I found some of them in the inactive area and dragged them over to the sidebar again. They now appear in the sidebar on the page, but when I go back to the widgets area and look at the sidebar setup it is blank again.
They are also no longer in the inactive area.
When I setup a sidebar I can see the widgets and when I go to the pages they are active. When I come back to the sidebar setup it is just blank even those the widgets are still working. I hope that make sense.
Welllllll…. recommend sticking with 1.6 … 1.7 has numerous bugs like this — well, not technically bugs, but rather there is some code which expects some strict PHP stuff and that doesn’t play nice with all servers — and most of us are waiting on 1.8. Best to “roll back” to 1.6 (seriously!).

Here’s a URL to a page with a sidebar with widgets: http://sumarize.com/category/cloud/
You’d have to go into the admin panel to see that none of these widgets appear in the sidebar in the widget admin area of WordPress.
Hi,
I have checked your page and this is what I see in your sidebar – http://screencast.com/t/34gJ9AVBGH
So if I understand well this custom sidebar that you use on this category page is blank when you go to Widgets area.
Please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com provide wp-acces and paste a link to this conversation so we can know who you are or provide details about your issue.
Thanks!
