If you try to use your own template for the posts in a category, it doesn’t work.

Hello!
Please edit your article and check which template is selected in the Post Settings: https://prnt.sc/FPEynF82EqIZ
Thank you!
This function is known to us ๐
However, it is a bit surprising that in the theme panel there is the possibility to select a separate template for the post for each category.
This function would be very advantageous for us because we have about 100 different categories and have to use our own templates for a number of the posts entered there because they have different information.
E.g. the weather, special information about the category and much more.
Is it planned that this function will be activated at some point?
Somehow you don’t understand our problem
example:
Saarlouis district category:
This template contains contact information about the district, the current daily weather and most read articles, police reports from the district of Saarlouis
Category district town Saarlouis:
This template contains contact information about the city of Saarlouis, the current daily weather and most read articles, police reports from the city of Saarlouis
Category State Chancellery:
This template contains contact information for the Saarland State Chancellery Most read articles
Category Ministry of Economy, Innovation, Digital and Energy:
this template contains contact information of the ministry most read articles
And that’s the case with 90% of the categories we use, only a few of which can use the standard template
Setting the global template in the post does not work because the selected template then applies to all posts.
Since the function that you can insert ACF does not work, or does not work yet, we are unfortunately forced to use a separate template for each category.
If this function worked, the problem wouldn’t exist ๐
Your suggestion that you gave me in another answer to enter the ACF fields in Column text or text with title does not work because the ACF fields are not shortcodes
With the enormous number of articles entered every day, it can happen that 5-10% have the wrong template, which doesn’t look so good ๐
Hi,
Indeed, after reading your details, I agree with you, for the moment you should use one cloud category template for each category, and if the number of categories is large, many cloud category templates will be needed.
As soon as there will be an update to the theme (now the update is in test), I will check if in the next version the ACF works properly for cloud category templates. The update should take place this month (most likely in about a week).
Thank you!
