The theme panel will not update when attempting to update the header and footer. The Box just spins for hours. Everything on this forum appears to discuss the newspaper theme instead of the newsmag theme even in the newsmag forum. Are both themes the same when it comes to editing? If so, why are there separate forums?

You most likely have an error in the console that tells you exactly why the settings in the theme panel are not saved. I think it is related to a 404, access forbidden, which comes from the host or htaccess, usually looks like this – https://i.imgur.com/oDJUqLR.png – https://forum.tagdiv.com/general-options-may-interfere-newspaper-theme/
The themes are similar and have some options that can be used in the same way (the options in the theme panel), but Newspaper is much different than Newsmag, and offers the possibility to do almost anything.
