Directory/Listing Issues

Good day!
I apologize in advance for questions that may seem obvious, as I am still very much a beginner. I am testing the Directory/Listing functionality of the Newspaper and have some questions:
Pre-Built Website “Job Hunt Pro”: during the selection of categories, the page completely refreshes and jitters, which is annoying. This happens both on the demo version and after the installation of the Pre-Built Website (pls watch one minute video attached).
Pre-Built Website “Real Estate Pro”: Similar situation, the page refreshes and jumps to the very top (focusing on the top part of the page, not the area where you make selections).
The above-described problem will definitely provide a negative customer experience, and from my experience with other websites, it should not be happening.
For example, on the TagDiv page of Pre-Built Websites TagDiv Prebuilt Website selection a similar selection feature is implemented, which works smoothly without page refreshing or jumping.
I am adding one minute video with problem illustration:

Questions:
1) What needs to be done so that the Directory/Listing functionality on the above-mentioned Pre-Built Websites works smoothly without page refreshes and jitters? Is it possible to implement this within a Pre-Built Website? If there is a solution, please provide detailed instructions for beginners on how to implement it.
2) How can the functionality be implemented within Newspaper, where filters work as smoothly as on your site (from the link above)? How the simmilar functionality is implemented on your website?
3 If such functionality is not possible within the Newspaper theme, please suggest plugins that would work with the Newspaper theme to implement this functionality.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello @Yuriy!

Yes. The filter feature works like this because it reloads after every selection.
For a quick solution that will shorten the time, please check out this thread: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/flex-loop-filters-issue/

Thank you!

Dear Bettina,

Thank you for your response and the link. I have read the description at your link, and indeed it partially resembles the case I described, but as far as I understand from the description, a solution to this bug has not been found. Please confirm my understanding. Regarding the situation described, I will try to divide my inquiry into 2 problems that I see in the application of filters (please review my video if necessary).

(1) When applying filters, the page “jumps,” which is not a typical response for filters. The update occurs in a way that frustrates users. Is it possible to solve this, and how?

(2) When a filter is applied, the page scrolls to the top – meaning the user sees not the part of the page where they were, but the very beginning of the page (top of the page). Is it possible to solve this, and how? When user applies filter page should not scroll to the very top.

Also, I would be grateful for a more detailed response to my following questions:
(3) How can the functionality be implemented within Newspaper, where filters work as smoothly as on tagdiv website (please follow the link above in my post and also the video)? How is similar functionality implemented on your website?

(4) If such functionality is not possible within the Newspaper theme, please suggest plugins that would work with the Newspaper theme to implement this functionality.

Thank you in advance for your help and detailed answers for beginners.

Hello,

1. This is how it works with that jump. My colleague provided a workaround solution.
2. That scroll is when a filter is applied, and the articles from the flex loop will be changed; for example, there will be different jobs depending on the filter you select.
3 & 4 This can be done with custom work to implement a smooth transition.

Thank you!

Good day!

I still want to return to my question, specifically about the page jumps (you can look at the video in my first post above, or on any example of your templates or already launched websites). In particular, when navigating through the menu, the page updates and there is a jump, meaning the update is not comfortable to perceive. This can even be seen on the implemented resources you demonstrate, for example, https://theprint.in/ and other websites made with your theme.

Can this jump and flickering be fixed, and how can it be done?

This is very important to me.

Hello,

The website you provided doesn’t use the filter loop element as in our demo; this is how this element works, and there are different elements.

Thank you!

Dear Anamaria,
Thank you very much for your prompt response. It seems I didn’t fully convey my thoughts. I am sending a link to a video that is a few seconds long to make it clear what I am writing about (pls look on the site logo and/or subscribe button to understand what I mean). (Recording Video)
When switching between menus, the site jerks (like shaking), which is not OK and normal situation for pages loading process. This situation is repeated on your prebuild templates as well as on the already implemented sites of your clients. Also such jerks happen when clicking other links on the website and using it, not just menus. In my opinion, and based on examples from other resources, there should not be such jerks when updating pages. Therefore, I ask you to advise please how to resolve this so that page updates happen without the jerks, which is not OK for positive user experience.
Thank you in advance for your response and help!
Best regards,
Yuriy

Hi Yuriy, I believe that you are referring to that movement when the page is loading, if so, this is until the page is loading and the style is applied.
Usually this can be resolved using some plugins as cache plugin (one of the best is WP Rocket, but there are also free plugins for cache as WP Super Cache, Litespeed …), CDN, a plugin to get/download locally the Google fonts to reduce the time loading from google – https://wordpress.org/plugins/host-webfonts-local/
Now for the block elements that are loading using ajax that is the only effect that the theme has right now, so if it’s not to your liking, it can be remove with some custom css and eventually it can be add a new css for a better user experience.
I hope this will help you!
