How to make it visible or not in the post. This is all described on several places on the internet, also by tagDiv. But I cannot find current information on how to do this on the latest version of the Newspaper theme (I´m using version 12.6.6). Need help!
most wordpress themes you set featured image in post editor then template supporting that inserts it. for templates with blank image spot you manually insert image in post where desired

If you are referring to delete the featured image on the post template and to have it on the block, then you need to use the Single Post Template.
You need to duplicate the single post template and assign the template with the featured image on the posts you want and the other on the posts you don’t want to have them. Thank you for your respons, Anamaria! I´m however afraid there is no option (on the left under ”FEATURE IMAGE”) that corresponds to not showing the featured image, when editing a single post template. Please help me further.

In the editor, please check if the Featured image is enabled in the post editor from Preferences -> Panels -> https://i.imgur.com/sugnYMJ.png -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image-or-video/
please check if is not at the bottom of the post. The same for categories. Please check if you don’t have a plugin conflict.
