Is it me or is the support not built for “normal” people.

To set the scene, I am not a technophobe but I am also no coder. I have used Dreamweaver to create pages and have basic HTML knowledge. So why is using this so ‘king hard?

I have my design in Photoshop (which I made) and now want to build the header. I have the search logo I created and now want to add it. I searched ALL the Youtube videos, ironically using their search facility and not one video even had the word “search” in it. All the videos were for version 8! I searched this forum for things like “search”, “search button” and “add search button”, couldn’t find anything remotely close to what I needed.

Is this not software for average, savvy website admins and meant for techno wizards only? I ask because at the moment, the only way this software could be any more testicles is if a pair of dad bags leapt out of the screen and slapped me in the face.

Seriously not happy.

Most people don’t use custom graphics for ‘search’, choosing to have page load faster with modern CSS buttons, with such built in to the theme.

Asking for help better than ranting, typically. Asking for help on specific thing, and including a screen shot likely better for the support team to figure out what you actually need support with.
(I don’t work here.)

I’ve been using the theme for about 6 years, and no more complex than any other ‘full featured’ platform.

Hi,

We usually get questions concerning the search functionality, not a search logo. The search is mainly represented by an icon https://prnt.sc/HoJFAuEKSPrH sometimes also by text next to the icon, or just text. If maybe you would like to use an image/icon of your own, there is a way.

If you can convert your image/icon in SVG code format, then you can load it in the composer as a custom icon https://prnt.sc/kGToFYob_OA2 Then you can select that as the search icon https://prnt.sc/qQhmxUtYzg-L

Or maybe another way would be to just set the image you want as the background of the search https://prnt.sc/MOlxgPVs-U10

Or maybe you are referring to something else entirely. We can help more if you could explain what a search logo is exactly, and how or where you want to display it and what it should do. I see the website and there’s currently a logo and a button inside the header.

Please let us know.

Thanks.

That was pretty good so thanks for that.

I went for the BG image but I now just need to get rid of the red magnifying glass.

Cannot find a way of adding a screen shot so you can see it here https://www.summarsole.co.uk/

Hi.
The header now looks ok there is no red magnifying glass – https://i.imgur.com/Li5XCm0.png but what you need to do now is to edit the header for mobile version. Use the tagDiv Composer – https://i.imgur.com/JFGPwSm.png – select any element and after that in left sidebar set the mobile viewport – then you can edit the elements from mobile menu zone – https://i.imgur.com/QHLv7IP.png
