Categories pages 404 error

I am receiving a 404 error on my categories pages, some are just blank and not returning an error at all

This can happen when you try to disable the master /category/ in the wordpress default file structure. If using the setting in yoast seo try disabling it.

I have been playing with how best to do this. The dot method not always work, nor does the top level plugin. I have been playing with the mod to the core wp files as best working waybto do that.

Might not be your issue, but theme doesnt control categories or permalinks.

Hi Chris, thanks for the response, yeah it was a problem with a setting in Yoast Seo in the permalinks I just unchecked- Strip the category base (usually /category/) from the category URL. and when I emptiedd the cache and re checked it it worked fine then.

Would you know why my menu bar is appearing as black on mobile, I have it set to clear but is still black
