I have newspaper theme v6.2 installed on my website.

I have made some custom changes onto my website by editing some theme files. Now as the new version of theme 6.4 is being released i want to utilize the new features provided in it.
How can i move to v6.4 of the theme without affecting my website. Is there a way by which i can manually update files ?
Please tell me the exact procedure of it.

Unfortunately if you did not use a child theme for your custom modifications, they will not be saved in the new version after the update. Here is a link to our documentation for the child theme which is what we recommend for custom work https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/

Our theme also includes a patch – contains the files modified from the previous version, it’s useful if you made modifications on the code and you want to replace only the files which were modified in the latest update.
In the future you can benefit from this patch but right now you missed the updates to versions 6.3.x so it will not work.

Hi I have managed to download the tool box and it has allowed me to upgrade to version 6.4.
But it has not installed the update for the Revolution slider as it suggests should happen in the documentation.
So how do I do it?
THis is the information I can find on your site
“How to install revolution slider v5
Due to it’s enormous size 🙂 we cannot bundle the Revolution Slider V5 easly with the theme in the same .zip file. You can find the Version 5 of the plugin in:
Newspaper-tf\plugins\revolution_slider_5”
But there is nothing there Punchtheme say to contact your support for a updated zip file.
So where can I get that please.

I’m currently updating my theme from 6.3.0 to 6.4 (also missed had not updated).. easiest way is to use the program WinMerge (search for it in google).. then just locate all the customizations you made.. it even allows you to directly add it to the new theme.

Just thought i would follow up.. everything seems to be working great! now on version 6.4 and and VC 4.6.2
The hardest part is the css stylesheet if you have customized it alot like i have, it takes time to find the new css that was added. It would be better if instead of giving us a full stylesheet in the patch, maybe also include a text file of just the most recently added CSS changes.. @Bogdan

Can you share with me Zip file of the theme v6.3 so that first i will maually update the files for v6.2 to v6.3 (files which were modified) and then i can modify the v6.3 to v6.4 using the same process.
v6.3 of the theme is not available on my Envanto account.

It’s probably going to make it harder doing that, as long as you find the custom code you added using WinMerge tool, then add those customizations into the 6.4 files.. then upload and override everything over http://FTP.. then finally update VC plugin…
*Note: I have now created a folder on my computer called “My Theme Changes” inside i just add all files i have modified so next time it will be even quicker

@rishab55555: Please send us an email to contact@tagdiv.com with your request and we will provide the previous version of the theme you need. Also paste a link to this topic. Note that we have not tested gfran5 suggestion about WinMerge and we cannot give any advice in this regard.
@molly55: The revolution slider 5 should be right there in your plugins folder: http://screencast.com/t/3m1pzKCs9.
You will have to install it manual like so: http://screencast.com/t/a32p9a7Eba. If you cannot find the file there then you can also send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com so we can provide the plugin.
@gfran5: Unfortunately the only thing you can do is compare your modified css to the new version of the css file so you can see the difference. It doesn’t work like you suggest, with a small css file that contains just the modifications. Sometimes entire classes are changed not just code added to the file.
