Theme Panel Grey, Won't Save Updates

Hello, I tried to upgrade recently which failed so I went back down to my current News Mag install. I tried to make some changes in the Theme Panel area and noticed that everything was now grey. Not a big deal, but when I would try and make changes, the save button no longer appeared. I also went into Custom CSS and Java area which is now blank (still showing the side bar but the actual editing area is gone).

Is there a way to fix this without loosing what I have done with the theme?

Hi

I am not aware of the changes that you made in theme files and I can’t say how they affect the theme’s functionality. Try to revert the changes that you made in panel area, one by one, and see which create issues.
Unfortunately we can’t offer any customization services at the moment so if you can’t do this by yourself my advice is to look for someone to help you or hire a freelancer from sites like http://studio.envato.com/

Thanks!

This is what I did:
I tried to update my News Mag theme to the latest, which I was running 1.7.1 I believe. I dragged and dropped the folder into my FTP (made a backup of everything). My website started to show a bunch of errors, so I decided to go back to the old version.

From there, I dragged and dropped the 1.7.1 back into FTP which returned the site back to normal. But the theme dashboard is now grey instead of blue and I can’t save anything. The save button no longer shows. Also when I go to custom javascript or css area, nothing comes up.
