So – I currently turned off the listing of # of comments per post – shown on homepage, since I don’t seem to get a lot of conversation, and it looks bad that all posts show as very little comment discussion (plus I use discuz and don’t even think it considers those as WP comments anyhow). I do however get FB likes since I promote via FB quite a bit. Is there any way to replace the comment #’s – with FB likes – on a per post basis, shown on the homepage, like it normally would with comments? (overlayed on the thumbnails).

It could be possible but you will have to either find a plugin that has such options or hire some help to implement it. Unfortunately we have no easy solution for it. Sorry.

Can’t seem to find a plugin that does this (overlay FB like #s). I wonder if its possible to find the function in the template where it places teh comment # – and replace it with the FB code. Or is it more of a WP function and not specific to this theme?

You can replace the theme comment with the facebook comments by following this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-change-default-comment-to-fb-comment/
But this applies for the facebook comments. I’m not sure it will apply to facebook likes.
