we try to enable SSL on our website with Newspaper theme. The only warning we have is with images (post’s thumb) of the related posts plugin which are sourced as http. It’s like this plugin does not use relative path?

To be more precise, the first tab “related posts” load images properly but the 2nd, ajax loaded (“more post from this author”) posts list has http issues (thumb images are source through http)

Our theme has ssl support and there should be no issues in moving to https.
Please make sure you follow this guide to move your site over to https: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-add-ssl-and-https-in-wordpress/
We have not tested any plugins that make this transition automatically so we cannot say for sure if the process gets done properly.

we followed that kind of process to move the entire site to https.
If you check a random page like https://www.aerospatium.info/un-marche-en-plein-essor-mais-plein-dincertitudes/ you will see that:
– on page load, there is no http warning (every ressources are properly linked)
– if you click bottom on “Plus de l’auteur”, the articles thumb will be ajax loaded and include with src as http (and thus security warning)

Note…
be sure you did a search/replace in your dbase for any images “inside posts” which have http:://yuorsite/image.jpg type links. Make sure you added the explicit https path to your site in the wp-config.php file.
Do a full regenerate images run.
For instance, if you have an image in a post as http://yoursite/image.jpg and then a new related thumb is rendered in certain places, you may end up with http://yoursite/image-thumn.jpg
Make sure you have a full 301 redirect in place for *all* requests for http to redirect to https in your htaccess file at the TOP.

There is no http hardcoded link into the database. Our Apache virtualhost is configured to force https.
WP_HOME and WP_URL are defined with https.
The only problem comes from the theme functions and plugins which in that case generate image html code with http protocol.

as you can see, a href are https but img src are http.

Weird. Page loads for me as fully https in Chrome/Win10 with no images loaded via http.
But you are correct when you click the link, the ajax loads the additional info as http vs https and throws error.
Also, you have missing font issue on the page, as a console error, it looks like from initial page load.
