Hello again,

Been using Newmag since December 2014. Love the theme! Just have one recent problem.

I’ve gone back to using an adsense leaderboard above the menu with header style #3. http://bit.ly/1AOikBD

After three (3) days there is still no ads displaying.

When I use the Google Adsense troubleshooting guide, it says I should be able to see the entire adsense google code snippet in source. However, when I look at source, the adsense code is missing and all that is visible is the call for the script. http://screencast.com/t/IzORd9qMFzw

This is a persistent issue. It hasn’t been a problem until now because I had local banner ads in there to use.

I can not get google adsense to appear there and this is important to fix. I have a complicated setup and any number of variables could be effecting it. I use Cloudflare, WPEngine, the Themes aggressive speed modifications/custom ad engine and any number of WP plugins are all likely candidates for interference.

I have tried to paste the code directly into the theme panel, no effect.
I have tried using AdRotate to show the ad, no effect.

I DO have google adsense in other places on my site and that is working ok. I have two search bars, one adsense in inline ads and one adsense in article bottom ads. These are currently working.

I would much appreciate some special attention to this issue. Thank you.

Is there a way to put this social bar other places on the website besides the Header and footer?

Hi,

I have figured out a way to incorporate my like button (like to my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/careongo).

I have included the JS code after <body> tag in header.php

However, the second part of the code which is HTML code needs to be placed exactly at the place where your theme specific facebook like button appears at the top and the bottom of the post.

In which file do I need place the code so that my facebook like button starts to work.

Thanks,

Hi

Try using this css:

.td-header-main-menu .td-icon-menu-down{
display:none;
}

The result should be like here: http://screencast.com/t/SzMllSc8OP

Thanks!

.td_category_template_2.td_category_top_posts_style_1 .td-subcategory-header{
margin-top:0;
}

It should work fine: http://screencast.com/t/XUWh2LH5Pvn8

Hi,

Congrats on the newspaper 6, I love it!
I’ve got a question though, how to remove the header and it’s menu from a page?
I’ve already using header style number 9, but the menu is still ‘there’ in a form of a straight line (gray line I guess). –> http://bit.ly/1FUu01k

My site is just a one page using block (with RSS) that link to other news site.
I’ve manage to remove the search icon though from the page but I don’t know where to remove the ‘menu’ straight line.

Please help, I need your advice.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
As you can see in my site http://www.modagrafya.com, there is too much space between elements and block. For example, the spacing between the header menu and the site content is too wide in my opinion. Also the space between the sidebar and the main content is too wide. How can I decrease the space?

A company sent me banner in swf format to put it as header banner. I tried to upload it, but WP didn’t allow it due to security reasons. Can anybody help me – what to do and how to implement this banner to the site?

Thanks Alin,

will this work if I copy the header-style-1.php file to my child theme parts/header folder?

Hi,

You can use do_shortcode function and display it bellow the main menu in the code. Just set it in a page and take the shortcode – http://screencast.com/t/T92s4Uo8X1enhttp://screencast.com/t/YxvbaQzfrX Then paste it like this in the header style that you use – http://screencast.com/t/AXRdDjrO

<div class="td-container ticker">
        <?php echo do_shortcode('[td_block_trending_now navigation="" style="" header_text_color="" header_color="" category_id="" category_ids="" tag_slug="" autors_id="" installed_post_types="" sort="" limit="5" offset=""]');?>
</div>

You may need to add some margin top using custom css – http://screencast.com/t/RYECyNYB

.ticker {
margin-top: 20px;
}

Thanks!

Hi,

How can I make full width (responsive) rows on a Visual Composer page?

The header and footer stretch across the full page but rows I create in VC stop at the edges.

I also have Optimizepress 2.0 pages on the site where the full width rows don’t go all the way across as well.

Like this one http://www.expeditionaustralia.com.au/thebiglap/

Thanks
Steve

I have changed memory as such:

define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '96M');

no change.

It is a clean install, am using main theme not a child theme. I have turned of all plugins besides VC. As for the logo problem, I have uploaded it to the media library with WordPress admin panel so it changes the path successfully on the Theme Panel and saves just fine but then when I view the site, no changes have taken place even after I clear my cache in browser. I can change it only if I upload it directly in cPanel or FTP it in but I shouldn’t have to do that lol. And nothing else I do in Theme Panel reflects any changes either, I can modify top bar, header, ad codes and pretty much everything else and even tells me it has saved successfully but then when viewing the site… no change.

Hi,

Please remove that header for category page from Theme Panel > Categories – http://screencast.com/t/TiUVmJQHrtq and use do_shorcode function to place the news ticked above the big grid – http://screencast.com/t/iEJrDnBgSsjM

<?php echo do_shortcode('[td_block_trending_now limit="5"]');?>

Result: http://screencast.com/t/rv65mfqh

Thanks!

Hi,

Not sure why you have this issue, the logo image should appear also on mobile devices. Do you have any custom css? Please try this custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css: http://screencast.com/t/HCTrAhTWKPM

@media (max-width: 767px){
.header-logo-wrap img {
display: block !important;
}
.span12.header-logo-wrap {
display: block !important;
}
}

Thanks!

Hi,

The code that @snowwatchGB provided to you should work if you use !important tag – http://screencast.com/t/qvooRjfLxd

@media (min-width: 1141px){
.td-header-style-1 .td-header-sp-logo {
margin: 28px 0px 9px 0px !important;
width: 340px !important;
padding: 0px !important;
}
.td-header-style-1 .td-header-sp-logo img {
right: auto !important;
}
}

Thanks!

hello there …

i have seen, that some of the selectable post styles are having quite dark header elements. For example the video style 11. And some other styles, which are using a dark-grey overlay over the article header-image.

There are two reasons, why i would like to change this design-behaviour:

1: I am using the light colored version of the theme. So all colors are very light and friendly. While choosing post style 11 (which is nice because of the additional adspace) the completely header section (the video section) looks like a dark styled theme. This not very cool and looks strange for my site. As it’s a parenting, family and baby related site. All colors should be light and friendly.

2: If I would choose (for example) post style number 3, I am getting a dark grey overlay over my header image. Again, I have chosen a light colored version of the theme. The thing is, that I adjusted all theme related colors to fit my needs (of course). So what I would see, when choosing post style number three, is a dark grey article-title above a dark grey image overlay. This does not look really nice …

The same problem appears with all other post styles (also with number 11). There are dark grey article-titles above a dark drey background…

So I either would need a solution for having automatically change the title colors for these post styles, when selected, or need the chance of choosing a lighter background for these post styles, to fit the rest of my layout.

I think this is a very complex need. But I think that I may not be the only one, who would be more than happy to have a hardcoded solution for this…

Thank you and warmest regards! 🙂

We’d also like to remove some of the padding and let the logo image take up more of the header space, but not make the black area taller.

Padding should be –
left – 35px
top/bottom 15px

http://weedstream.net/dev/

I thought it might be better to combine these instead of making a new entry.

Thank you!

I have the default settings set for my blog but is there any way I can set the grid that is below the header to have the video slider grey background without having to install the video slider defaults?

Hi, this worked for me:

@media
(min-width: 1141px){
.td-header-style-1 .td-header-sp-logo {
margin: 28px 0px 9px 0px;
width: 340px;
padding: 0px
}
.td-header-style-1 .td-header-sp-logo img {
right: auto;
}
}

Hi!

The logo in the header is pushed to the right. I tried:
.td-header-style-1 .td-header-sp-logo {
margin: 28px 28px 9px 0px;
}
and it’s ignoring that.

Thanks for your great help!

Hmm, not insanely hard as all the code is being outputted already(as stated in the above post).

Anyway, if someone is looking to do this it isn’t so bad.

https://jsfiddle.net/7y22gcax/

Throw the JS in the header and the CSS in a style sheet and boom, mostly done. Very little JS to make the output work, the rest is CSS as per your needs. Good luck!

I did activate that option and once I am connected I can see my username showing up in the top bar above the header. The problem is that when I click on the user name near the “logout” link, I would expect the link to lead me to the wordpress userpage (or the admin panel in my case) but the link is just a /# and doesn’t lead anywhere.
The website is madameriri.com/dev

Could you please le me know how I can go to the user page when I click on the username text in the top bar after login ?

thanks in advance.

Can’t you just set the noindex of subpages option in Yoast SEO?

Otherwise you would need to do something like edit the header to do an “if is page greater than one, the echo meta” conditional expression.

Or, follow best practice and don’t do “next page” from home page at all; and only do from categories which is normal best practice where you can control the meta with Yoast SEO very simply. There should be no homepage/2 homepage/3 homepage/4.
