I know that it’s not the best solution but I installed “Simple Tag” plugin which fixed the problem. Sorry for SPAM.
Hello
I’ve seen that a new version of theme has been released. How can I install the new version? I’ve already installed several plugins and made a few settings. Will these changes be lost when I update the theme?
Best regards,
Andra
Thanks, Christopher
for the helpful list.
I will stay away from removing anything from the root.
Another thing, I still have the demo on a live site, can I
activate the theme (with the demo part on it)
or do I have to uninstall everything first and then
reinstall the theme to make it work.
Thanks
Anything in /wp-admin/ is part of the core WP install
usually *all* theme files and demo content will go in
/wp-content/themes/newspaper/
/wp-content/themes/newspaper-child/ (or similar)
/wp-content/plugins/nameofplug/
anything in your root folders are part of the base WP install, not the theme
/wp-admin/
/wp-includes/
(e.g., /home/freestu/public_html/wp-includes/ )
Hi Radu,
Thank you for the instructions, they are helpful.
I have actually figured that one out and removed the menu.
The problem was I had a webdesigner and I selected he Newspaper template and he was supposed to put it on my established site and do a migration to a new url.
Unfortunately that guy got to busy and quit on me and I was stuck trying to do it all by myself.
I have now gotten my menu back but there is still one problem with my original theme
and the header upload in wordpress.
If I upload a new header (same size, supported format) I am getting now a message like this:
Warning: Division by zero in /home/freestu/public_html/wp-admin/custom-header.php on line 841
Warning: imagecreatetruecolor() [function.imagecreatetruecolor]: Invalid image dimensions in /home/freestu/public_html/wp-includes/media.php on line 1288
Warning: imageantialias() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /home/freestu/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-image-editor-gd.php on line 256
Warning: imagecopyresampled() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /home/freestu/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-image-editor-gd.php on line 258
Image could not be processed. Please go back and try again
I am not sure if this relates to the demo install or any of the plugins that came with thenewspaper and that I had installed.
I guess the only way to find out is to go back and restore my site from last’s backup?
Thanks
Hi Simmons,
Thanks for the reply.
Good advice about the demo install. Wish I had known that beforehand.
The site is actually established.
I figured out the menu and pages. There is just a header problem now.
But since I have a backup from last Sunday, I will try to restore.
@Angie – i cannot verify anything on your site now.
The demo makes this:
1. a menu – you can delete that from wp-admin -> navigation
2. 10 posts – go to wpadmin and delete them
3. a page – in wp-admin -> pages – sort them by date and delete it
That’s all the demo is doing. We plan to improve the theme in the future to also allow uninstall of the demo.
Also if you can’t use the theme please contact me at contact@tagdiv.com (include a link to this post)
Best bet is to delete all the files and then replace all content from a backup; or remove everything and do a CLEAN install of WP. Generally you never install “demo” content over a live site — as demo content with WP is intended for blank sites to fill in content for development and will “usually” break an existing site/content since it’s dumping in content which is essentially “placeholder” material for you to edit as a starting point as needed, so hopefully if you’re just starting out, then you start from scratch with whatever theme you want to use.
Not sure that helped. I was here looking up something else. I’m not part of the support team.
One trick is simply remove the content from the location you uploaded it to … then switch back to one of WP’s default themes like twenty twelve. Turn off all the plugins that came with Newspaper. If your site doesn’t work with the normal WP theme, then you probably need to do complete clean install. (It’s happened to me … learning experience.)
Hi
I installed the Demo for Newspaper Magazine and now it has messed up my site completely!
I would like to remove the whole installation of newspaper for now.
I did remove the theme from my wp- dashboard
I then went to cpanel and removed it from my server .
But the demo installation is still on my blog.
You can see the menu items, and I can not change headers, etc, etc,
Please help and let me know how to remove the files completely.

Hello,
1. http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress_in_Your_Language
3. That code work with qTranslate plugin and take the translation from which language is selected. See here:

http://screencast.com/t/HUuRaENNeBt
4. We will add all that words from Social plugin in our translation panel and then you can translate it from there in the next update.
5. From Translation panel http://screencast.com/t/JCROAFIVd

Hi,
I installed the newspaper theme on a test server to try and it did display several homepages to choose from.(there were up to 4 at least, I believe)
When I installed it on my website, none of the homepages to select are there.
I went to my dashboard > reading > to select pages, but it does not show any (except the ones I already had)
I am unable to set any of the choices as my front page?
I may have accidentally deleted a homepage years ago, so
I re-installed my wordpress version, in case there was a problem in my index.
But that has not helped.
How can I get the missing homepages, please?
I installed W3 Total cache and activated but now none of my category background images display nor does the homepage bg image display.
Any ideas?

Hello,
You can export and import to an existing WP installation (pages, posts, attachment, images) using the import/export *xml file from wordpress. http://screencast.com/t/6M8OGJ2wq
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
Apology but I do not understand your answer. I have installed all files os Newspaper´s Theme correctly. Could you explain me how to translate the word “Page” with more detail please?
Thanks for your response,
Gretings.
Marius, Please tell me what settings you used for caching plugin, I installed it, but it did not affect the result of the test.
Hello,
Reply via email.
Hi,
Thanks for the fast reply. I sent those details you requested in an email.
Hello,
Send at contact@tagdiv.com
For icons from menu you have to change the icon color if you want something else. Icons are in a sprite in \images\sprite
Also for the socials we have 4 styles, use Style 3 for a gray-white version.
Thanks again Simmons! 😉
Hello,
I see that the HTML structure is fine. Please send us access to your WP and we will make the update for you. Probably have some corrupted file. Try to copy all the files again via FTP and see if works. If don’t send access at contact@tagdiv.com and we will take a look.
Thanks
Hi everyboby!
Since I’ve installed newspaper on my website http://www.echosurf.fr , every page I want to see on my admin is slow. Have you an idea about it?
Thanks a lot.
I found out what the problem is but no clue what causing it or how to fix it. I followed this guide in the Newspaper FAQ and tutorials section:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-manage-html-structure-compromised-the-site-looks-bad-broken/
It turns out that the problem isn’t with HTML but with my CSS structure. I used the W3C CSS validation service and the results are below if @radu can please have a look.
regards,
Hi,
I installed the update from v1.2 to v1.7.2 and the theme is completely broken now. I only had one (search box) bug before installing the update. Now the whole theme seems to be broken after installing the new version.
It looks to be an HTML/CSS problem but I’m no coder so I don’t know what the problem is or how to fix it nor what even to look for.
Can a nice support person please help me out?
Thanks,
HI, Jambr
you don’t set a color choice; there are several versions built-in to the sprites sets; meaning there are sprite sets for solid, reverse, color … you select that in the drop down choice for the tagdiv/social WIDGET loaded from widgets on left side, dragged to the sidebar for top right and/or footer (one for each); once in sidebar, like any widget, you can configure it to both add the links for the icons, and choose an icon “set” (1-4), each “set” is a different format … (see top right of my test page: ga-ga.com and I’m using
[tagdiv]social icons >> sidebar/top right(social)
icon style = “3” which gives me the lightgrey on black.
icon size 16px
So, all you have to do is choose “icon style” 3.
NOTE this only applies to choosing social media icons for the top right of the bar across very tip top of page, not icons in the menu bar below the logo area.
Also, obviously you have to actually put in the URL to your social media landing page/account for the icon to appear top right from the widget.
Hope that helps!
