Hello, I had a problem with quality of images in module 10 viewed from mobile, as they’re pixeled as the default size used is around 150px and they appear to full screen on mobile if you use them to show the latest post on your blog page.

This is my solution. It’ll load a bigger image, but sizes are not that much great to have a bad impact on website performances.

1. Create a new image size for thumbnails (e.g. I’ve used 640×350)
2. Modify Newsmag->includes->modules->td_module_10 in this way:

<div class="<?php echo $this->get_module_classes();?>" <?php echo $this->get_item_scope();?>>
<?php echo $this->get_image('td_640x350');?>

<div class="item-details">

3. add this code to the child theme CSS:

@media (min-width: 768px) {
.td_module_10 .td-module-thumb img {
max-width: none;
height: 135px;
width: 246px;
margin-left: -33px;
}
.td_module_10 .td-module-thumb {
width: 180px;
height: 135px;
overflow: hidden;
}
.td_module_10 .td-module-thumb .td-video-play-ico img {
max-width: 40px;
max-height: 40px;
}
.td_module_10 .td-module-thumb .td-video-play-ico {
left:103px;
}
}

Please check this imageMenu - Logo Adjustments for the images:)

Hi,
I am using the style 10 for my header. The mobile menu looks like Picture 1.

I was wondering if I can chage this like in Picture 2.
I mean instead of showing the logo on top, can we place it on the menu bar?
I like everything about the style except this part. Is there any css adjustment for this?

OR;

Let’s say if I change back to default header style 1. On regular view :
How can I change the logo width and height and center it (to use like in sytle 10)?
And also how to center the menu on Style 1 Default?

I know both question sound like the same thing. But I’m newbie to this stuff and just want to learn css adjustments for each style in case I need to switch back and attach advertise on top. So if you submit both ways I’ll be grateful.

I appreciate that and thank you in advance. Have a great day!

I want to display a custom ad below each article on mobile only.

How can I edit a template or which part should I add to show an ad on mobile below an article?

Thanks

Hoping you do NOT change the grid system for Newsmag, as we prefer the current layout which supports sidebars on mobile, more narrow layout, and overall “weight” of the design. For Newspaper features – one should obviously use the Newspaper theme 😉

I don’t use CDN.

Ok so I deactivate all except tagDiv Speed Booster & VC.
After 404 on the post pages, now it is ok for photos on computer and mobile.

I reactivate first WP Retina 2X and photos stop showing on mobile! 🙁

So I reactivate all the other.

Another test in webpagetest.com and it still say that the file your show that is missing.
http://www.virtualmagie.org/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/js_files/td_smooth_scroll.js?ver=6.2
I didn’t touch anything about the theme files!

And I just check your files: in that update there is no more the js_files folder.
So how it is possible my site try to reach it (I find nothing in the htaccess)?

How I could correct that?

Hi,

Please disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN and see if you still have this issue on mobile device. If this solves your issue, activate your plugins one by one and see which one caused this. You can try this as you have some js errors in the console that may affect this – http://screencast.com/t/xGQ5eLiGK5

Thanks!

Hi,

You can change the color also for menu and search icons for mobile devices – http://screencast.com/t/yH6suuYNoPqA
as if you want to change the mobile logo position you will need custom work, and it is not so easy.

@media (max-width: 767px) {
.td-header-wrap .td-header-menu-wrap-full, .td-header-wrap .td-header-menu-wrap, .td-header-wrap .td-header-main-menu {
background-color: #fff!important;
}
#td-top-mobile-toggle i, .header-search-wrap #td-header-search-button .td-icon-search {
color: #222 !important;
}
}

Thanks!

Hi,

Please try this custom css to remove margin bottom for header ad – http://screencast.com/t/Jadjb8rXeR

@media (max-width: 767px) {
.td-header-sp-recs img {
margin-bottom: 0 !important;
}
}

If you want to reduce mare that space you will have to reduce padding(you already have a css for it) – http://screencast.com/t/265z52NBWY on mobile view using media queries – http://screencast.com/t/kklFJuGXG

Thanks!

Hi,

Please try this custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css – http://screencast.com/t/yH6suuYNoPqA as there is no option in Theme Color to change this.

@media (max-width: 767px) {
.td-header-wrap .td-header-menu-wrap-full, .td-header-wrap .td-header-menu-wrap, .td-header-wrap .td-header-main-menu {
background-color: #fff!important;
}
#td-top-mobile-toggle i {
color: #222 !important;
}
.header-search-wrap #td-header-search-button .td-icon-search {
color: #222!important;
}
}

Thanks!

Do you have any plan for the future version with these features ? I have suggested this for the team in the past but still not get it in most versions.

I think it would be great features to turn off some spots for mobile and tablet views. For example, you can turn off sidebar, header spots or footer spots in specific views (mobile, tablet), to make the mobile version is more faster and look great.

That is strange. Why would you not add login/logout in mobile. It’s a must have (even ‘must have’ is an understatement). Registered user interactions is like a backbone for a lot of sites. I will make do with the css fix but is this being considered for the future?

My header ad is still showing on mobile – above any content – even though that view is disabled in the theme panel.

I also have the top article and inline content ads disables on desktop, but they are still showing as well.

Hi.

After i updated the theme to 6.0, the background color on the header on mobile devices is black. How can i change it? I have the site http://www.macweb.dk, it would be great if i could change it to white, and then the icons to another color? Since my logo has a white background.

Looking forward to hear from you :-).

Hi

By default the top menu don’t appear on mobile devices, but you can use this custom css to display the Log In/ Log out option:

@media (max-width: 767px) {
.td-header-top-menu {
display:block;
}
}

@media (max-width: 767px) {
.menu-top-container {
display:none!important;
}
}

@media (max-width: 767px) {
.td-header-sp-top-widget {
display:none!important;
}
}

@media (max-width: 767px) {
.td-header-sp-top-menu{
top:0!important;
}
}

If you want to display only the Log in/ Log out option, add this lines of code:

@media
(max-width: 767px) {
.td-header-sp-top-menu .td_data_time{
display:none;
}
}

The result should be like here: http://screencast.com/t/nM8IvOr9A0

Thanks!

Question 1:
With the version 4 the recommended upload size for the featured images was 1074x483px. The new documentation however mentions nothing about any ideal size for the featured images (more than, as big as possible).

What is the recomended image dimensions for the featured images? As of right now I´m still going with 1074×483. I´m using the Style 3 Post template.

Question 2:
When using the Style 3 for my posts, when viewed in mobile-view or withing a small browser window, the featured picture shrink as it is supposed to but also gets a rather ugly looking gray bar. Why does this happen?

I still haven´t updated from 6.1 beacuse of the issues that was with the article-namning and the brought up stability issues of 6.2. Perhaps this is fixed in the next update of the theme?

See this picture for reference:

Hi,

I am a little perplexed right now. I can’t seem to find the setting to show login/logout in mobile. My site is based on user generated content and it needs to be there in mobile as well. I thought the links will be present by default in the off-canvas menu?!

Hello

I used shortcodes in header ads and it works fine. However, now i need to disable that on mobile devices as ad size is 728×90.

Please advise how to disable loading header ads on mobile.
