I was trying with this topic https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-disable-the-big-homepage-blocks-in-mobile-view/

but still .single_template_4 .similar-articles wont switch off at mobile devices.
I added custom css:

@media
(max-width: 767px) {
.single_template_4 .similar-articles
display: none !important;
}
}

and

@media

Well… reading the documentation for Yoast SEO might be good place to start 😉

Also good to look at your “page source” to *SEE* what is actually being populated into all your meta tags and open graph (og:tags) tags. [ it looked okay to me ! ]

You can also click the link in the sitemap tab of Yoast to see what the XML sitemap index looks like. Assuming you already did that.

You can also use the “test sitemap” button in webmaster tools to see what it says.

You get multiple sitemaps because of taxonomies and also a 1,000 item limit per index file. (So, a site with 4,000 items would have 01, 02, 03, 04 pages …. and “index” tells Google what maps are part of the overall site “map”.) Author sitemap might just be list of authors; tag sitemap might be list of tags. Mobile sitemap on some sites identify which content is mobile ready, vs what is not; etc.

Hi,

Google Webmaster reports this error /search/ point to a page not found…

It could also redirect /search/ to another page, but in terms of seo even this does not seem a good idea.

What other solution to eliminate it in the page code?

var td_ad_background_click_link=””;
var td_ad_background_click_target=””;
var td_ajax_url=”http://www.bintmusic.it/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php”;
var td_get_template_directory_uri=”http://www.bintmusic.it/wp-content/themes/Newspaper”;
var tds_snap_menu=””;
var tds_header_style=””;
var tds_mobile_swipe=””;
var td_search_url=”http://www.bintmusic.it/search/”;

Thanks

This codes seems to do the trick:

.page .template6-header {
top: 500px;
}
.page .td-full-screen-header-image-wrap, .page.single_template_6 .td-header-wrap {
height: 500px !important;
}
.page .td-full-screen-header-image-wrap .backstretch{
height: 500px!important;
}
.page .td-full-screen-header-image-wrap .td-backstretch{
height: auto!important;
}
.page #td-full-screen-header-image{
min-height: 500px;
}

However, the article title text and info does not resize with it. So on mobile the title text and other text is below the image. Fix for that?

Hi,

Did you enabled top menu from Theme Panel? – http://screencast.com/t/IE1skPN9PlQO as I have checked your site and the top menu is not visible also on desktop, that css help you to show it on mobile devices(where is hidden) – http://screencast.com/t/ce6z8jXRAZSv
Please check if you have this issue with smartsidebar also without any plugins active, leave only Visual Composer active and clear cache. Also test it without js/css minification.
About loading time please test your pagespeed https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ and try to fix those errors. You can find out more about this in our documentation – https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-speed-guide/ and also Christopher topic help – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tutorial-chriss-custom-optimizations-for-functions-php-etc/

Thanks!

Hi there again:

i was asking more fore the way to switch the Menu icon for the basics you include in the newspaper theme (the House, the 3 lines, the cubes, the arrow, etc…).

As you can see in my site http://www.pacmac.es on a mobile device, the menu icon are the cubes, but i rather the lines and i would love to change it.

thanks

Hi,

Make sure you follow Alin’s instructions from previous message and configure the top menu as you want it then use the custom css in theme panel > custom css section to display the top menu on mobile screens also: http://screencast.com/t/YFfRs3Z2m

Make sure you do this and provide your site’s ulr so we can inspect it.

Thanks

Hi,

I have checked your site and you sidebar appear after you page content – http://screencast.com/t/FcmM7eUPSp
Anyway if you use pagebuilder for pages you should use another page template than default – https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates/
Also I see that you use sidebar on left for articles that’s why the sidebar appear first on mobiles, so if you want to appear after the content please change it to the right side.

Thanks!

Hi,

You can use an image and replace default menu icon for mobile: http://screencast.com/t/QPZFbFjwmxb
For example – http://screencast.com/t/e6pKQz2q
<img src="link">
You have to adjust with some css code and you should have this result: http://screencast.com/t/azeA7XzuLwa

#td-top-mobile-toggle img {
width: 30px;
height: 30px
}

Thanks!

Hi there!!

I have a quick question that is making me crazy…and probably is as easy as pie.

I have notice that on mobile devices it appears a logo (3 lines, or a cube of cubes, a house, etc…) mine is cubes but I wanted to change it for a different one.

Is that possible? And more important HOW??

I really appreciate your help.

Thanks

Good afternoon:

I have the Newspaper theme, and I see that in mobile phones widgets appear first, and then the last posts (in the case of the homepage) or the post title (in the case of individual posts). I do not know how to handle this so that the content is a priority to the side widgets, such as advertising or other type ‘text or html’.

I hope you can give me solution, thank you very much.

Hi,

@pings

As Christopher pointed it comes from your robots.txt – http://screencast.com/t/wFBfpGJS
Try this solution – http://www.davidtiong.com/is-my-wordpress-responsive-website-mobile-friendly/

Thank you, Emil G.

Hi,

Do you want to display top menu on mobiles as it was not designed for mobile screen and it hidden there. You ca try this custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css to display top menu on mobile: http://screencast.com/t/vxH9YTZTX8V2

.td-header-top-menu {
display: block;
}

If this is not what you mean please provide more details.

Thanks!

Hmm, not sure about it. It works for me. Are you sure that none of the options are turned off like view on desktop? Have you looked at mobile to see if it displays? Maybe take a screen shot of the ads panel.

Hi,

You can make this change in header.php file: http://screencast.com/t/Hw7c5iUsr
Result: http://screencast.com/t/2sbaKggda
Also please use this css to center logo image on mobile: http://screencast.com/t/lbyOqdXa1

@media (max-width: 767px) {
.blog-stack .mobile-logo-wrap img {
left: 0px;
right: 0px !important;
}
}

Thanks!

Also to clarify the panic and despair some folks have been hyped into worry and fear over … if you site doesn’t pass the mobile friendly test ALL THAT MEANS is that your site will not be shown/ranked highly for MOBILE searches — it does not impact your desktop searches at this time.

Logical idea – if a website won’t work on cellphone, why show link to a site in SERPS for mobile that won’t work on mobile.

It doesn’t mean your site is going to get kicked out or ‘punished’ — technically, merely not shown as well as it could for mobile.

During the break in period — they will typically still show sites, but they will remove a “mobile friendly” tag next to the site to identify it’s not mobile friendly.

Eventually they will start to hide those sites but not entirely “right now.” So, you have some time to shore up the flood gates 🙂

Perhaps check your robots.txt file first, as if you block part of your site without actual need to do so, then Google cannot load the proper CSS to build mobile version of page …

from the screenshot on the test page – you’re not getting the mobile layout … hence their warning about not blocking your wp-content folder with robots.txt …

Hi there. I need help here.

As you probably know, Google is now punishing sites that are not mobile-friendly.

I thought that I was OK, my site seems to be perfect for me, but Google don´t agree.

In google test page, its showing that my site is not mobile-friendly, with 2 errors: Links to close and content bigger than screen.

Can you guys take a look at my website please?

Site: http://emagrecersemdieta.com.br

Test page: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/?url=http%3A%2F%2Femagrecersemdieta.com.br

Thank you.
