As surprising as this may sound, I have not found a way to display 2 images side by side. They always show up underneath each other. This is such a basic function, that it should work right away.

There are several issues with this:
1. It doesn’t work for content that we’ve already published (approx. 9 000 articles).
2. It displays cropped versions of images, so it isn’t suitable for, let’s say (in my case), 3 full sized screenshots next to each other.

Not sure how you could do this for your published content besides using css which is not easy based on the different options you can chose when adding an image so to put together an selector which targets just those images and aligns them one after another.
This is a known issue with WordPress as it has an built in system whit you can use to align left/right/center images.
What you can try to do this using various methods, like adding images one after another and chose the same align for each one or try a solution form here or adding images to a div container then use css to align them which would make it easier as you would have the image placed inside a div tag specially created for this. Either way you would have to edit each post.

Hi Lucian,
I understand that it may not be possible everytime, however I still find it rather disappointing. With every theme up until now, we have been able to display images side by side if their combined with was below the width of the post. You could try this, it really works almost everywhere.
The Newsmag theme content is 640px wide so by setting 310px for each image I should still be able to show 2 images side by side with a 10px gap between them. This is not the case and no matter what you do, they always end up underneath each other.

Please send the URL of a post/posts containing images with this issue and you want them side by side so I can inspect theme and see if I can find a solution for it.
