I have several post that i keep updating from time to time, this means that i may change the permalink too.
So far, everytime i updated a post (permalink included) wp automatically redirect all traffic from old URL to new URL. But this is not hapening anymore since i installed Newspaper. Latest URL of any updated post works properly but old ones do not redirect as it should.
For example:
Post: http://agendadeocio.es/madrid/teatro/si-la-cosa-funciona-teatro-maravillas-jose-luis-gil/
works OK
This post old URL was: http://agendadeocio.es//madrid/teatro/si-la-cosa-funciona-con-jose-luis-gil-en-el-teatro-alcazar
But when post was updated, and changed url to a custom one, WP redirected it to new URL… now i have NEWSPAPER theme installed this is not happening any more, making me lose traffic from links to the old url
I read some topics and reset permalinks, deleted cache, deactivate plugins… not solved so far.
do you have any idea what may be happening? Thanks

Es raro por que precisamente antes de ayer tuve que cambiar el enlace de un post y no tuve ningún problema.
Un pequeño consejo: ten cuidado porque no está bien utilizar más de 3/4 redirecciones sobre el mismo enlace (sea post o página). El crawler se marea y dejará de darle importancia al enlace principal y en consecuencia a todos los cambios posteriores afectando gravemente al SEO. Hay un video donde Matt Cutts lo explica super bien.
Realmente está pasando con los post cuyo url fue cambiado antes de instalar newspaper. Con los nuevos parece que funciona bien.
Tomo nota de tu consejo. En mi caso ningún url ha sido cambiado más de 2 veces.

This is just happening on posta which url has changed before newspaper was installed. Not affecting those that i change now.

The theme does not control or change post’s url, it is completely controlled by WordPress. Also I can’t access your links, it seems the there is a problem with the server: http://screencast.com/t/y4mlNRDlwip – http://screencast.com/t/J7hS0JTIK7IU I’ve made a few tests on my end but I can’t duplicate this issue.
