Recently we’ve been having a lot of issues with 504 errors. I have contacted my host provider and they are telling me is something to do with the theme. I don’t know how to resolve this:
You can see that are a lot of ajax requests for this path that it seems to be theme related:

I think that the problem that you have is di to the fact that you are using one of the latest WordPress version (v5.8) with and very old theme version, Newsmag v3.3.1 from 2016 and those are not compatible.
IN this situation I see only two options:
1. You can update the theme -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/
2. You downgrade the WordPress to an old version, something under 5.4 -> https://increasily.com/how-to-downgrade-wordpress/
Regardless of choice, please make sure that you’ll make a full backup for your website and database.
