What I can recommend is to enable the debug, so you can see what is causing this situation https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/debug/debug-wordpress/ is possible to be something from an extra plugin.
Also,if you are using YouTube videos, you can also check if you have the youtube api key set in the theme panel – https://forum.tagdiv.com/youtube-api-key/

I added the api key and set the post type to Video, but the featured image is not being generated.
