8.7.2 to 10 update help making the best decisions

I’ve been extremely lazy with updating my theme, it’s currently 8.7.2

I’d really like to update to version 10, but just really worried about the potential issues moving from such an old version to 10.

I’d greatly appreciate it if there is any tips on the best method/practices and any advice on things to be aware of prior to the update.
