Activation code on sub-domain test blog

HI

I would like to build the TagDiv Composer startpage on my test blog before doing it on doing it on the actual blog. My test blog is versions behind and needs to be updated. I have not updated it beacause I am not sure if I can use the same activation code on the test blog, which is located on a sub-domain within the domain the activation code is used on. Can the activation code be used on several blogs within the same domain? If not; how do I manage a secure and updated test blog?

Hi,

There will be no problem activating the theme on a sub-domain for testing purposes. You can go ahead and install the theme and theme plugins there and activate it.

Thanks

Sorry to hijack the thread, but my question was almost the same. The difference is our test domain is separate then the live domain. We can’t put it there for this instance.

We really like this theme and are considering it for another site. However, we would like to do a test first on a separate domain, to see how their content will work with your design and if they’ll like the new look. When a theme is not activated what is not displaying or working? Can you elaborate? Also, if we have to purchase another license in order to do this, is there a refund policy?

Thanks,
B

Hi,

On a sub-domain of the main domain there would be no issue. I believe installing the theme on two different domains at the same time, would be against Envato license specifications
But since it is for testing you can install it there regardless of being a different domain, no need to purchase a license only for testing.
As long as the theme is used to create a single end product there will be no problem, according to Envato terms. More about the license terms here
https://themeforest.net/licenses/terms/regular

Thanks
