I have upgraded to Newspaper 8 and when I go through the activation process, it seems like the button bodes not work. I tried both ways and entered the correct information. In both cases, when I click the button nothing happens.
Not sure what to do next.

Try to re-download the latest theme packet and make a new fresh install on your server. First of all, you should make a full backup to be sure and do not lose your content.
