Got a few issues with placing banner ads:
1. Sidebar ads aren’t appearing on the home page, just on article pages? Do you know how I can resolve this so that they appear on the homepage as well as the article page sidebar?
2. I know there is a custom ad in the theme panel, however I have no idea how to use this feature, what I want is an ad placed just above the comment box?
3. At the moment I have placed two ad widgets in the side bar, however they are both running the same add and I want them to run individual ads? Do you know how I can do this?

Sorry but I think you misunderstood my questions, I’ll try again…..
1. Yes I added the adbox to the sidebar of the homepage but it doesn’t appear on the homepage sidebar, it only appears on internal pages e.g. article post pages. I have tried to resolve this by changing the visibility settings for the adbox to specifically select “front page” (as well as various others) and still no change occurs? What may be the problem or may I be doing wrong?
2. I also have two separate adbox’s in the sidebar, however I’d like to make them have two separate ads appear in them i.e. two separate google codes, as at the moment I assume they are the same ad loading twice on the same page?
3. No I don’t want the ad to appear at the end of the article, that’s what I have at the moment, what I want is for the add to appear further down, below the article, just above the footer.

Just as FYI: Google may serve up the same ads when you have two same size ad units in the same area, two boxes in same general vicinity the same size.
Ads are shown based on the size layout, and how they are tracking YOU to serve up ads. Using two different ad unit codes on same section may still show same ads.
Usually the way to clear that — it’s nothing to do with the theme — is go visit a bunch of websites like car sites, etc., and when you go back you should start seeing different ads served up.
One “trick” is to make one of the boxes “TEXT ONLY” and make one ad unit “IMAGES ONLY.” This has worked for me in the past.
Additionally Google will limit the NUMBER of ads on a single page to three, so if you have three ads on homepage already, then the sidebar would be fourth and might explain why the sidebar ad works on posts/pages but not the home page.
This may not be related to your issue, but similar to things I’ve run into with using AdSense since the day they launched that in beta quite a number of years ago.

2. You can use Custom ad 1 and 2 and use the Ad box widget for each one in sidebar.

Sorry I fixed the issue, what I wasn’t doing was applying all the correct “visibility settings” within the adbox widget.
However the other issue was applying custom ads e.g. just above the footer on every page, so please could you provide you email so we can discuss this?
