Then you can use visual composer to create your main home page and you can ad an ‘adbox’ element in your sidebar: http://screencast.com/t/2AFQk2zdjzf

In my reply above i showed you how to place an ad in a static page (your homepage).
If you want to display ads only here, you will need to remove them from other parts of your site.
