More writers are joining my site, but I cannot figure out where I can create them on the back end so that the correct author of each post will be shown. Any ideas?

Hello,
Our theme by default uses the default user roles and capabilities of wp. So when an author posts content on your site, the post author will be set to that author that posts the content. You ca see the authors in the users area of WordPress: https://www.screencast.com/t/7Fn4PcS3

If you use a guest post plugin, you should check the plugin settings to check for the post author displayed.
