Add Image Caption to featured images

Hi

I would like to add Image Caption to Post Featured Images. Here is what I am talking about:

I am displaying the image by the theme’s Feature Image feature. I want to get the caption from the images’ Description field.

I would also like to add a hover effect. So that it pops up when someone hovers over the image. — If it isn’t possible, it is ok.

You can see an example live here.

Please let me know if it is possible.

Thanks!

I found this very helpful for doing more or less the same thing:

@TheMediumUTM I know how to do it manually. But I believe tagDiv has created a custom PHP script for the Featured Image feature. So I want to add it from there.

Hi,

Replace ['caption'] with ['description'] like this: http://screencast.com/t/HJBS3X6hG
Result here:

* http://screencast.com/t/WFFSpcYno
* http://screencast.com/t/dEwwsWGlt0

You can style it yourself as you like via css.
Thanks

Hi Lucian,

I have changed it but I am not sure about the style. Can you please kindly provide the CSS code to make it look like that?

Thanks

Hi,

Use this class to style it as you like: http://screencast.com/t/2UO2dojWDMzO
You can go to you to that page that you like as the caption for images are styled, get that style, if you don’t have basic css/html knowledge we recommend to hire a freelancer to do it for you.

Thanks for the message

This is ridiculous. It shouldn’t be a long code. Just tell me how to do it so it overlaps and don’t show after the image. That’s all I want to know. How to make it so that it is at the bottom of the page and not after it?

Unfortunately we cannot offer custom work as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support. You can always get a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/ if you don’t know how to do it yourself.
