Would someone be able to tell me, from having the plugin themselves or otherwise if it will work with Newspaper? I’d like to know before I buy.

Was not tested by us, what I’ve know is the Templatera – Template Manager for Visual Composer works with the theme.

I’ve purchased that extension and used it successfully on other sites but unfortunately haven’t been able to get it to work on Newspaper just yet.
The extension won’t work unless you have an up to date version of the Visual Composer plugin which you can get in the latest version of Newspaper 3.7.
However I’ve been experiencing issues with this. All the AJAX functionality seems to be affected when I activate the ‘ultimate addons’ extension. I can’t find out what the issue is currently but will let you know if I do!

I’m still trying to get to the bottom of it.
I updated Newspaper to 3.7 and WP to 3.9 and activated the extension and had the problem.
My next step was uninstall it and revert back to the old versions of Newspaper and WP.
It appears that the AJAX problem doesn’t return until all three are activated.
Originally it stopped any of the “Load more” elements on the blocks from working.
I’ve now managed to get some of them working but not all.
If you look on my staging site you’ll see the main slider still isn’t working. And none of the actual features of the extension itself.

Its a shame because that extension would be a really good addition to the them if i could get it working! I’m going to drop the plugin authors a line too but I can’t replicate this problem on other themes.

I’ve had a look at Templatera but in my opinion it doesn’t compare. It would be fantastic if you can get this to work with Newspaper.
One thing to note is that the Ultimate Addons component is 3rd party while Templatera is made by the same people who make VC. Choose from too many columns and you might get overcharged.
