Dear TagDiv-Team, I have a big problem with a plugin. Until now I was using the Newspaper Ad-Placeholders on desktop and mobile theme. But here is no option to block certain referrers for AdSense Ads which is always leading to deductions in the earnings because of invalid clicks. AdSense doesn’t want traffic from Social Media, but I run a blog and so I have traffic from Social Media too.
Because I’m using a server-side caching I should configure the plugin so that the dynamic blocks are inserted client-side. But if I use this function there is always a CLS measured although on desktop layout as on mobile layout. It’s the same thing if I want to use an wrapper for the desktop ad and put the wrapper into the ad slot of the TagDiv-Composer. Why this is happening? How can it be avoided?

Unfortunately the AdInserter Pro plugin has not been tested using tagDiv Composer. Therefore this issue is not covered by the support team.

And which Plugin is supported by Newspaper for inserting Ads? Because there are just two that are officially recommended by Google: AdInserter and Advanced Ads. You can read it here: https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/7527509?hl=de
Why you don’t support by the biggest search maschine of the world recommended Plugins? I don’t understand that!!!
But also if I don’t use a plugin and want to use a wrapper in the field for ads in the tagdiv-composer there is a layout shift. What is causing that layout shift? And why every css added is causing a layout shift in the theme?

We have not tested any plugins in this matter since Newspaper Theme offers a variety of options when it comes to inserting ads.
Normal desktop or automatic ads can be inserted in Theme panel – Ads or by using TagDiv Composer and AdBoxes. For mobile theme plugin you have Theme panel – Mobile Ads and AMP Ads.
This all work for Google Adsense Ads perfectly.
Can you let us know where exactly you would like to insert an ad and it causes the layout shift ? Do you have an example ?

Dear Vlad, I know that it works perfectly if I directly insert the ads in Newspaper. But the legal requirements have changed. In the EU no ad is allowed to be shown without consent and Google AdSense makes problems if there are too many impressions for visitors from Social Media. Unfortunately Newspaper offers no possibilty to stop referrers for Facebook and so on.
If a block or a CSS-Wrapper is inserted in the layout always a Layout Shift occurs like here: https://www.topfgartenwelt.com/svg-logo
This also happens if I write a CSS-Wrapper and put it directly into the Ad-Section of the Newspaper Composer. Why is that happen?

I have throtteled down the speed in Chrome DevTools to a very, very slow connection so that you can see the loading in slow motion and unfortunately AdInserter causes a layout shift and I don’t know why you can’t produce it. Testing with PSI or GTMetrix will never show the CLS because they measure just the first loading but no scrolling and other behavior of the site. The CLS is there and how can this be fixed?
AdInserter should load a placeholder with 350px in height after the first paragraph but on the load this placeholder is missing: https://imgur.com/a/rfrbJos

As mentioned above, the most we can do at the moment is to take a look and see if we can find a quick fix. AD Inserter pro has not been tested with Newspaper Theme. We cannot come with a solution for something that we have not tested. Our developers are testing the CLS through GT Metrix and they are working their way around those results.
Unfortunately at the moment those are the only options.
