I would like to decrease the amount of space between the menu items so that I can
fit more items.
In attached photo you can see that the items I have pushed everything down
and left a space above.

Also how can I get rid of the user info and icon in upper right?

You can control the space between your items in the menu from here: https://prnt.sc/pKdgLVt2pcul For example you can write: 0 10px and set 0 for elements space.
Just delete the elements you do not need. There is actually a recycle bin basket for every element https://www.screencast.com/t/wFYdqgpo6pT or drag-drop the entire row: https://www.screencast.com/t/pxuOzYIIpcG
Set the row like this: https://prnt.sc/-SAV6yHpckUp and place the elements in different columns.

It looks like you’re using a classic header from tagDiv Standard Pack, it can’t be edited with the composer, but no problem, you can import the header you want from the cloud manager -> https://i.imgur.com/EDYrDMP.png choose the one that you like the most -> https://i.imgur.com/I2SOsbq.png then just edit it with tagDiv Composer and make sure that is set as global -> https://i.imgur.com/G6IZlGL.png
