adrotate – question for someone who is using it with newspaper theme

I’m looking at tools to help manage ads on my website (using newspaper theme) and after some research have decided upon adrotate.

Are there any people here who are currently using it with their newspaper theme? From what i’ve read so far i can create shortcodes using adrotate and then use theose shortcodes in the Ads part of the theme panel (top banner, in post, sidebar widget etc).

Is my understanding correct? Any pitfalls that i need to watch out for when setting all this up?

Been using it for 7 years now, predating tagdiv, so its always my first choice

Adrotate Pro on site for 6 years, a flawless product for me with Newspaper – shortcodes can go into Theme Panel ad fields, or TD composer / VC ad blocks – sidebar widgets are great too.

Have been using Ad Rotate two years. Works pretty well. Can’t get video ads to work yet, but not pursuing it heavily. Other than that, it’s effective.

Hi Patwire, I have a question abotu using adrotate wit the theme panel ad section.

I’m going to use adrotate to serve up ads in the header area of the website. I have created two groups in adroate. One contains some 728×90 ads and the other contains some 320×100 ads.

The aim is that anyone visiting my website form a desktop / tablet will have a 728×90 ad shown and anyone visiting from mobilw will see a 320×100.

So, i’ve created the two ad groups. Now im looking at the header ad section of the theme panel, and there is one box to enter code into.

How do i crate a conditional statement in the header ad box that will serve up an ad from a specfic adrotate group depending on the device used to view website?

Just here checking on my own issue and I noticed your question. I can answer it for you.

No conditional statement for AdRotate group, based on device, is necessary. AdRotate Pro has a section (called Advanced) on every Adverts page that allows you to specify based on criteria such as device, OS, and logged-in visitors; and provide fallback ads (sidebar-sized usually) to be served to those types of non-desktop devices. It’s easy to set up. They even include a handy icon for each “device type” in your current catalog of ads giving you INSTANT perspective on what ad is active on what device. It’s a beautifully intuitive touch.

I guess I shouldn’t assume that you are using the Pro version. I would doubt that this feature would be available in the free version. Sorry if I buried the lead here.

thanks for your reply. I dont have the pro version but dont mind paying if it will do what i need it to do.

Can you clarify something for me. Reading your reply it would appear that i wouldnt need to use the ads section of the newspaper theme at all (you mention advert pages) have i understood you correctly.

if i dont need to use the ads section of the newspaper theme at all to serve the ads setup in adrotate i am assuming that i can place them in the following positions easily using adrotate only?

inside post
footer area
sidebar
