I’ve edited the code in my theme panel > ads > Header Ads to redirect from my site (insidertravels.org) to (www.clickcatalyst.net) but when I click on the rendered ad all I get is a 404 error page saying “insidertrips.com/wwwclickcatalyst.net does not work”

Are you including http in your urls?

You will have to add the full path to the external link The absolute path including the http or https as Chris describes.
