I don’t know if this problem related to the theme or not but let’s see. and please help me :/
I started from 10/2015 with newspaper theme my CTR was about 4% and sometimes higher
then traffic was increasing so i moved to VPS ” nginx ” and cached my website
and used cloudflare and used their plugin to restore the user IP.
after that my CTR is dropped too much ! and for sure my CPC.

I’m using ads from your ads system and shortcodes also from newspaper shortcodes for ads
I’m thinking about the ads maybe it’s not appear to mobile devices due to caching or something like this i really don’t know :/

Here’s a link for a multi-page article https://boredomdoctors.com/handyman-fix-furnace/
I don’t know the problem but sure it’s from caching or cloudflare because before this i was working so well!

More and more people are using adblockers … especially now in ipad and mobile devices and new web browsers with built-in ad blocking.

If your CTR dropped dramatically by changing to cloudflare, then it may be related to that.

Simple way to test, go back to how you had your setup originally to see if it goes back up by NOT using cloudflare.

I know that more people now are using adblockers .. but this is not the reason to drop CTR from 6% to (0.5% ~ 1%) !
there is a secret behind the manual caching or cloudflare i really don’t know .. i will test with a normal blog without a cloudflare and i will see the results.
Thanks Chris.

Sorry I didn’t have more helpful answer …. I don’t use cloudflare …. so, not much help on this one.

Perhaps somebody else will have better answer — lots of folks DO use cloudflare. Caching shouldn’t impact things unless the tracker you’re using can’t parse out cached visits or something thus impacting the CTR.

Tomorrow i will work without the cloudflare and i will tell you the result.
Thanks again πŸ™‚

Hello,

January seems to be the slowest month every year, it’s the month people pay the credit card bill from xmas. Companies are in annual balance too. That means less ad clicking/bidding. Did your traffic drop too? Ads seem to be working fine.

Did you recently moved to HTTPS? I’m getting mixed content and since my browser blocks it, your site gets blocked. You have wildcard? you seem to use cnd subdomains. There’s also http link in some images too.

There’s also some shortcodes showing like [/tps_header]

Don’t know if this helps, just my 2 cents. Cheers!

If you are using Adsense NEVER minify any JS. If is possible css either. Only use HTML minification .
in cloudflare deactivate everything and set CDN only.

Another thing, use similar ads positions like before you switch to newspaper

And the last thing, every january are less advertisers

Oh, thanks so much!
Yes i moved to https is there any problems while you’re browsing in my website ?
should i return back to http ?

Yes I minify JS and CSS .. today i will try with a website with no cloudflare and i will see the results.
thanks so much πŸ™‚ i will tell you the results tomorrow πŸ™‚
Sorry for my horrible English.

Thank you Ing Geek, that totally makes sense. Analytic and Adsense seem to be very picky about js, no wonder, it’s how they control what they pay. I stopped using the speed options in cloudflare after a day or so of experimenting with them and afterwards, I only minify html in cache plugin. Those would brake up some functionality but I always assumed it was because I’m a lazy coder and my site is all patched up. I guess a simple static website with very good code can benefit from cloudflare features, specially rocket loader.

@mahmoudfathymohamed

Today I’m seeing no mixed content so I guess you fixed it πŸ™‚ visited several articles and no content blocked and padlock was always green, I saw no problems like yesterday.

Moving to https is usually a good thing. It can lower your traffic acquisition from search engines if not done carefully though. Since http and https use different server ports (most), both versions of a website, if they exist, are considered individual websites. Since the content is the same, search engines will label one as a duplicate. Search engines don’t like duplicate shit. When there’s http and https versions of the same site, webmasters should take measures to inform search engine which version to crawl and index and which to ignore (robots.txt, rel canonical, htaccess)

You only have https version so you don’t have to deal with that. What you might consider is the “juice”. Before you went https, did you had any particular page/article that ranked well in search engines? Or did any “respectable” website linked to yours? If yes, then you are losing that SEO juice because those rankings and those links point to something that doesn’t exist anymore. If no, which probably is the case because you’re online since only 10/2015, then don’t bother.

Cheers!

I didn’t make anything from yesterday πŸ˜€
only pause and resume the cloudflare.
this website based on social media visitors only no SEO no Google rankings. I don’t care about it.
I’m trying a different website now with the same ads placement and everything but no cloudflare.
I hope my CTR returns back πŸ™‚

Hi mahmoudfathymohamed, Same Happens to me… My CTR dropped a lot. In February We recover a little. How is your situation?

Post count: 23

Well .. after weeks and many experiments i tried the same ads placement on another website ” WordPress.. no caching .. no cloudflare ”
and CTR return to it’s normal rate !
So i knew that the problem is technical in my original website .. it’s not about adblockers or January month.
when the CTR is less than 1% it’s a technical problem with no doubt.
I found that many ads in different times shows White block.
I’m not a system administrator. so soon i will contact someone/company to help me πŸ™‚
In short,

Moving to https will decrease your earnings but not too much.
Rocket loader will fu** up your earnings.
Check the ads from different devices, IPs, Times.
