Adv Plugin

Hi,
I would like you to give us a recommendation for an independent Adv plugin that is compatible with the theme NewsMag, which has more options for an Ad campaigns (display options, google formats, static or animated banners, campaign tracking throw google ad sense, third party access, etc).

Or information that you may plan to improve adv plugin within NewsMag theme.

In search I found this 3 plugins , so I’m interested in your opinion that it matches the theme NewsMag before I buy it.

I have one more Q because this days we creating material for the NewMag theme.
Can we use uniform sizes for post images (A x Bpx) no matter which themes template we use now and in the future?

I would also be interested in someone being able to test out AdPress for the NewsMag – and Newspaper theme..

We need to use self hosted Ad’s, and also have a system to organize and sell Ad’s – where Ad customers can “book” their spot and pay online..

From the look of the code, it seems to be easier to modify the theme (if needed at all) – than to modify the AdPress with it’s addons ..

Would be very happy if someone with deep code knowledge of NewsMag would take AdPress for a spin and see if it breaks anything..

Fast Fact: Initial tests show Adpress works without a problem.

I have been using Adpress on our old site for years.

Adpress is not perfect, but it is a beast I know and it has yet to fail me so far. Plus the author is a cool cat.

We use Adpress simply. Only we the staff post ads, and all of our ads are images in our media library. We don’t do anything else but that.

We are upgrading our theme to NewsMag. We are doing testing on a dummy site with the demo and Adpress.

First I uploaded a 728×90 image to the Media Library.

Then I created a Adpress Campaign. Ad Type Image. Ads Number 20. Image Size 728×90. Clicks 10,000. Column Number 1. Price 0. Ad Rotation checked with Ads to Display 1.

This created a AdPress Campaign shortcode of

[adpress campaign=1]

Then I went to Ad Press Settings Image Ad. Deleted everything in both HTML Code and CSS Style. Then I entered in HTML code the following:

I was wondering the best place to put “td-all-devices”, but I decided to make it flexible.

In NewsMag Theme panel Ads for Header Ad, I entered in the following:

<div class=”td-all-devices”>[adpress campaign=1]</div>`

I also just threw in the Adpress Campaign shortcode into a post.

Long story short. It worked both places and was responsive.

I will do some more testing and let you know how it goes.

Please don’t take offense on what I say here. I think ads are almost pointless now to use, because of the adblock extension for browsers. A lot of people are using adblock and that keeps people from seeing ads. I hope you figure something out. I am using Zergnet and that is even used as ads and blocked by adblock. I have adblock myself but bypass it on my website. I am sure I am not getting much from Zergnet, because of this adblock extension that others use. I wish there was a way to unblock people from using adblock, but oh well. I use it for the other sites I go to. There is a lot of websites that have way too many ads that you are side tracked from seeing the real content.

it is just one of those things people notice if it is not there. At least one rotating ad position makes you look more pro.

We put in banner ads of charities we like in a rotating spot or senate vote alerts. At least 5. We don’t expect any real revenue from it. Just something interesting and helpful.

That is why we do our own rotating ads, and not google ads or whatever.

Yup, well unless you charge for access, ads are one of the only forms of revenue for some folks, even if they continue to be “diminished” due to ad blockers. 30% of ad shows is still better than no ad shows. Aside from programmatic content (paid content), affiliate links, tip jars, and whatnot, ads are still one of the only ways to pay for revenue from websites in publishing. So, while they are not as useful, they cannot be dismissed as pointless unless you’re donating your time to run your website for free and don’t have the overhead of servers, software, theme, labor, plugins, extensions, etc.

Sadly people don’t want to pay for content, don’t want to see ads, and then insult people when they make the content in the comments. Hilarious. I guess the folks who live with their parents and want their student loan dismissed really shouldn’t be anyone’s target audience, but sadly the millennials are taking over 🙂
