Hi, i’m working on my new site using Newspaper. I need to put a big adv unit (970×250) under the header and above the content (post + sidebar). How can i do that? Editing the single.php file seems not working.

Note: using “Post Template Style 12, 13” do not work, even if i try a simple “Hello World!” text instead of ads code, it doesn’t show anything.

Hi,

For header you can use the header style 4,5,6,7,8,12 or multipurpose 1,2,3 -> http://prntscr.com/pkek0g our you can use a header template from tagDiv Cloud Library and edit it with tagDiv Composer to look how you want.
For header -> http://prntscr.com/pkelyx -> http://prntscr.com/pkem5p
Also the Post style 12,13 are working, just make sure that you set the banner, adv in theme panel -> http://prntscr.com/pkelj2 -> http://prntscr.com/pkeloo -> http://prntscr.com/pkelrr

Thank you!

Hi Calin,
i can’t use the header ads beacause it shows the adv on the homepage too, and i need it only in the post page.

Using Post style 12, 13 are not working because i use the default style: http://prntscr.com/pkf4qe

What can i do?

Hi,

Unfortunately on default post style you can not set and adv on this size (970×250) only smaller like this -> http://prntscr.com/pkjgwp ->http://prntscr.com/pkjhc8

Thank you for your understanding!

But i really need this.
What can i do to publish something here: http://prntscr.com/pkkhma ?

I can’t even editing .php file?

Hi,

Yes, you could add the code from the style 12 and 13 in default style, go in -> wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/single.php -> http://prntscr.com/pkl9lr -> http://prntscr.com/pkl9t8 the code ->https://pastebin.com/Y7tg6shm after that the code set in theme panel-> ads -> http://prntscr.com/pklacm should be display on default style too.

Thank you!

Great Calin!
How can i not lose this mod updating the theme in future? Using child?

Post count: 35449

Hi,

Yes, you can do that -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Also, I’ve forget to say that you can use new templates from tagDiv Cloud Library and you can edit them using tagDiv Composer, you can achieve what you need and you do not need to wary about the updates.

Thank you!

Ok, thanks for your support.

Just a last question: when i upload the child theme folder in the themes folder, do i have to activate the child theme like a new theme?

Thanks.

Ok done, thanks! 😉

Ok, using Child theme and using the header.php file that i downloaded from
/public_html/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper seems ok.

But when i try the single.php file (from the same location), when i just put it in the child theme (in /public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child) without modification, it broke the site and i had to remove it.

What can it be?

Hi,

Please make sure that you made all the steps as in our guide -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/ also please notice that we do not recommend to use the child theme, only if it needs and you have the proper skills to manage it.

Thank you for your understanding!

Ok, but if i download the single.php file from:
/public_html/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper

and i upload it to:
/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child

without modification, how can it mess up the post page?

Hi,

That is because you’ll need to get another file too -> http://prntscr.com/pm2dk7 -> http://prntscr.com/pm2e18 -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/if you copy the both files, then should be no problems.

Thank you!
