Ajax error while activating plugins

Hello, I am getting ajax error while activating tagdiv plugins, leading to ‘There has been a critical error on your website.’
Max upload size has been increased and PHP upgraded to 7.4 by host.

Hello, I am having exactly the same problem as KevIndaharl2. Max upload size has been increased and PHP is 7.2. I received an email today from Newspaper stating that there was an update and it is while doing so that I received the ajax error message and critical error.

@Wanjiku17 I tried installing on a different hosting account too, getting the same issues.

@kevindahari2 did your host definitely upgrade your PHP? My site is now up and running and here’s what I did.
1) I double checked that my PHP had indeed been increased as stated. Turns out mine was downgraded to 5.6 (it is usually 7) and was told it was 7.2. I made the change manually to 7.2 via my control panel.
2) I cleared the cache
3) I then deleted and re-installed the new version of Newspaper (as per the email update).

That seemed to fix it and it has been working for an hour or so. Your messages were exactly the same as the ones I received initially – Ajax error followed by critical error (which only went away when the tagDiv plugins were removed).

@Wanjiku17, thank you for the feedback. I have finally been able to install mine too. I contacted host again but it seems that they did not upgrade PHP properly initially. Now on PHP 7.4.5, and downloaded the newest version of Newspaper.

Hi kevindahari2,

Please note that the last php version was not yet tested with our theme we indicate to use php 7.2 and 7.3 these are stable with our theme.
Let us know if there are still some problems.

Thank you!
