Where do I install the code on newspaper? I tried installing the Amazon mobile popover in the footer file and the Custom Code file in NewsPaper (Custom Java, Custom HTML) neither of these worked.
Hello,
Unfortunately we are not aware of the Amazon Mobile Popover implementation. You should follow the instructions provided for this ad regarding wordpress implementation if there is an. I cannot provide any insight as we have not tested this type of ads. Our theme was built to work with all ads but in special cases, a custom implementation is needed beyond the theme panel options. I can;t say for sure what it is though. The ad provider should be able to provide more details.
Thank you!
Thanks for the reply… I assume I’m installing the code in the wrong spot. Here is a video showing what the code looks like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQQrdFoBXQU In the video he installs the code in footer and header scripts…. where would be the equivalent on Newspaper?
Hello,
Our theme does not have these spots in the theme panel so you will have to add the code manually inside the theme files. Here is the header file: https://www.screencast.com/t/r7AEM9C8
And here is the footer: https://www.screencast.com/t/XPfMTEEyfjH
Thank you!
I edited the footer file and it still does not appear to be working. Would there be anything in particular that would prevent the code from working?
I can’t say for sure unfortunately as we have not tested this type of ad. I cannot offer any working method for something I have no knowledge about. Pleas contact the ad provider and ask for instructions on how to implement it as we cannot provide any insight on this type of ad.
Thank you!
Put it in footer.php just right before the </body> tag. If you’re using the mobile plugin, implement the code in mobile/footer.php
Hello,
Thank you @crazydiver for pointing out this issue. It is now nearly 2018, and as yet, I also have not been able to implement the Amazon Mobile Popover with the Newspaper theme. Much like you, I have directly edited the Footer.php file, and added the code as required, but it never works on any mobile devices we have tested.
I am recommending that TAGDiv support has a look at this page: https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/home/tools/mobilepopover/faq#copy-code to understand exactly what we are referring to, as after having been available for nearly 2 years now, I am hoping that TagDiv finally has a solution for this (@Bogdan-B – you mentioned that you are not familiar with this – so please review the section on WordPress implementation in the above link, and give us your feedback).
So – may I ask, is there a solution for this? If the <script> does not work when placed in the Footer.php file as recommended, what is the solution?
Thanks in Advance.
Sorry but this is not tested. Untested scripts and untested plugins are not covered by the theme support. You will have to hire a freelancer/developer to help out with the needed implementation. You can alternatively try to use an ad plugin and bypass the theme ad system. Try adrotate and place the adrotate shortcodes in the theme panel ad spots.
Thanks.
