AMP broken with 8.8.2

Hello team,

I have a strange problem, when I update to the latest version of Newspapper (yesterday) and update the plugins too.

AMP stops working, error 404 is output. So I had to restore an earlier version.

Does the same thing happen to anyone else?

Hi,

Try to re-save the permalinks, in the WordPress settings. Then check again, there should be no problem. Let us know.

Thanks

After Updating theme to 8.8.2 all existing post amp url convert from /amp/ to /?amp. Is this happen because of update or this is a issue of plugin. Pages amp URL still remain samee /?amp. check this url

https://www.codxx.com/tnpsc-805-assistant-horticultural-officer-recruitment/?amp

above url belong to a post. In previous version of theme the same post url was this

https://www.codxx.com/tnpsc-805-assistant-horticultural-officer-recruitment/amp/

But now this url showing me 404 page not found error

I’m sorry, I think that I’m having problems with my website, out than the theme. When I fix them, I’ll try the update again.

Hi,

@m2hewitt
If that message is displayed, please update the plugin. There should be an update button in the theme plugins panel. Or you can deactivate and delete it then reinstall it from the same panel
https://www.screencast.com/t/z0cqhxsWx
After you activate it, please re-save the permalinks in WordPress settings.

@Prerit
The AMP posts are working now – http://prntscr.com/k1l1ri

Thanks

Hello Simion C.

I have repaired my website and the tagdiv AMP plugin fails.

If I use a normal AMP plugin, everything works fine. If I activate tagdiv AMP, AMP stops working and gives 404 error

Can you access my website and check it out, please?

Hi,

I check your website now, AMP seems to work with our AMP plugin active

Should I check something else maybe? The posts I tested worked.

Hi @Simion C.

I had the same problem… I just followed your advice, it works :
STEP N°1 : I deactivated the plugin + reinstall it
STEP n°2 : I re-saved the permalinks in WordPress settings
Thanks
Good day

@Simion C.

The problem is not really solved, it is an incompatibility error with Yoast by SEo (plugin).

I had to turn Yoast off and on again for AMP td to work. Only the configuration has been “temporal fix”, but it may fail at any time.

I recommend to check this issue well and add a repair in future updates, attached log of the error caused by AMP td plugin.

They should work same as before. That’s unusual, I also have both latest version of Yoast and the AMP plugin active. The AMP post pages work properly. Could you test this by leaving only theme plugins and Yoast active? as a quick test.

Post count: 460

I did, that’s how I detected the problem.

I also use the yoast plugin to deindex, produced by the Yoast error, maybe that is the yoast plugin that gives the error.

Post count: 20688

I could try with the same settings, what are you de-indexing exactly and how?
In our tests there are no such problems, the Yoast plugin works with our AMP plugin same as before.

Yoast SEO: Search Index Purge
Yoast SEO

I only used those two plugins and there was an error. It was fixed by turning them off and on again, which means it can happen again.

Post count: 20688

Don’t know about that plugin, I thought you were only using Yoast, and also tested with it only. We did not make any tests with the plugin you mention. Between AMP and the Yoast plugin we have not identified any conflicts or issues.
