AMP Error in Google Search console

Hello Team,

In the Google search engine console –> Page indexing –> ‘Alternative page with proper canonical tag’, I’m getting below type of links around 2000+.

I have stopped the AMP usage long back but I’m not sure how the links are showing with AMP details?

Can you Pls help me to get rid of these links (?amp, noamp=1,?noamp-1)

Hello Bettina,

I have deactivated and deleted the plugin approx 2+ years back.

I feel entries are triggering from somewhere because these links are till active in ‘Alternative page with proper canonical tag’.

Furthermore, I searched in Header as well but nothing related to AMP. If you know Pls let me know where to delete the entry so that it won’t come in Page indexing.

If I click ‘View Page source’ I can see this href=”https://www.giriblog.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=31605&action=edit”

I’m not sure, is there any relation? But I suspect somewhere it’s triggering.

I don’t have any AMP plugin. I have limited plugins Yoast, LiteSpeed, Akismet and WPcode excluding NewsPaper plugins thats all.

I don’t have knowledge in script but using my common sense to check all the options 🙂 but couldn’t find any clue.

One of my biggest mistakes is enabled the AMP 🙂 .

Pls let me know if you have any idea where to delete. It would be great help.

I checked with ChatGPT, and it has given redirect script and added in the .htaccess.

Let me check and monitor for some time. If it’s not working will come back to you.

Fyi, I did post regex codes for setting up redirects for amp here in the forum couple years back, I think you can find by clicking on my name. They can be used with the redirection plugin.

let me try with this redirect script. If its not working, will try further.

As well, I hate plugins which will create unnecessary problems and compatibility issues / conflicts.

Always I prefer scripts to solve the issue 🙂 .

I have only 4 plugins excluding NewsPaper plugins and got 100% score in PageSpeed Insights.

I started using the Redirection plugin as it also does some neat tricks like tracking 404s if you want, so you can do redirect on the spot. Our news portal has been online 25 years, so it’s kinda a nightmare 🙂 We also 301’d print friendly versions, pdfs, amp, etc. — but with you, most of our code is in custom home-brew plugin vs having 10 “one liner” plugins installed. 🙂
