I do not understand about the AMP, but after I installed the tem AMP plugin, I noticed a scary drop in Google’s Alaytics.
After realizing that the visits were falling more and more, I disabled the AMP plugin and the Analytics numbers started growing again immediately.
What is the explanation for this?

Please understand that the main functionality of AMP plugin is to display the posts very quickly on the Google’s eye. Basically, when a client in on AMP version, he is not on your website (that’s why your visits were falling down more and more ) and the main goal is to redirect it to your own website. The AMP will have to be viewed as a preview to the posts pages of your website which are delivered by the Google AMP Cache. This is a proxy-based content delivery network for delivering all valid AMP documents. It fetches AMP HTML pages, caches them, and improves page performance automatically.
