AMP thing

I am using v 9.5, and I don’t use mobile theme, but I do use AMP.

In your new version it is stated that AMP is possible ONLY with the mobile theme. Yes?
If yes, I don’t want to. Alternatives?

I have updated to 9.6.1 and have been trying to get it to work for the last two days.
I am not planning on using the mobile theme, and sadly the AMP does not work.
I’ve already gotten mulitple emails from Google telling me no pages have AMP anymore.

Your suggested caching plugin WP Super Cache doesn’t seem to have the required persistent object caching.

My entire website now no longer has AMP and I’m very frustrated by this.

I’ve had the same problem, and I’m back to the previous version. Unfortunately this is a serious problem. We expect to be corrected. And many thanks for your work.

Everyone who incorrectly loaded AMP-page.

Note that the AMP standard has strict requirements for the size of the css file. No more than 50 kilobytes.

When activating AMP classic on this page for example:

I still get no AMP result when putting it through Google AMP test page:

Even if it were to work, the classic AMP is less functional than what it was before, is it not?

The mobile theme is of no interest to me, it was fine the way it was before.
If this isn’t going to change I’ll start looking for a different theme.

This theme has gone in a direction that it appears no one has asked for and is giving many, many problems. Just look at the amount of recent support tickets regarding AMP on the forum.

How do I roll back to an earlier version of the theme?

I just noticed I can trigger the AMP page by adding ?amp at the end of the url.
The page then loads with no images at all, which is far from what I want.
Also the font and colours are different and there’s not even a menu to navigate the website.

I have tried a different AMP plugin (AMP for WP) and when that one is active Google recognises it as a valid AMP page.

For now I will continue modifying my website using this AMP for WP plugin.

I am still incredibly frustrated by how this theme update has made me spend two days trying to fix a website that was working flawlessly. I’ve gotten multiple emails from Google telling me my traffic is getting affected.

Not a happy customer.

Update: Facebook Pixel plugin breaks the AMP plugin.

Omg, good luck, I am still using v 9.5. I will not update until I really have to.
On v9.5 I am using amp, but I don’t use mobile theme = great. = less bloat.
